rock guards / splash shields
I know, another thread on rock guards / splash shields.
been doing a lot of searching both on here and on google looking for some protection on the rear of the front wheels. and yes, I agree, GM should have installed something similar to the rear of the rear wheels on the fronts. I'm not sure I like the RPIdesigns version. but I found these two on ebay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/2010-2013-CA...feeb5e&vxp=mtr http://www.ebay.com/itm/2010-2013-CA...32207966&rt=nc thoughts? other opinions / options? I think I prefer the ones for $63, I think the extra size offer better protection. thanks tony

Extra size may offer better protection but it also looks kinda weird IMO. I just bought the 58.00 ones though |

I bought the cheaper ones ....they work fine. I thought the bigger ones would be too big.

for those of you who have tried these, how do they compare width wise to the stock rear guard?
I am still contemplating ordering the stock GM 2013 rear shields: CHEVROLET GM OEM 22895337 Rear Bumper-Splash Shield CHEVROLET GM OEM 22895336 Rear Bumper-Splash Shield this way, the car will maintain the OEM look. I have seen a few threads on here where the guys started with the above GM parts and cut off the recessed section and installed them similar to the ebay versions. thoughts? thanks tony

I was surprised at the amount of rock chips this car accumulated with just 5800 miles on it
:( the spot right behind the door by the "gills" is just horrible! |

I was going to go that route too, but I couldn't find out how they were attaching them. The stock rears have to be cut up quite a bit to work and it doesn't leave anything for the 2 screws in the fender well to connect to... I am assuming they use nothing but double sided tape. |

I bought a generic truck set and custom cut them to fit.
$18 mud flaps + $5 3M hd molding tape. Make them as large or small as you like. Search the forums for a couple of how-tos. Also recommend paint protection film on the rockers and gills. Big flaps + PPF + 25,000 miles = Like New. |

No pics, Car is at the dealer this week, that's another post, LOL.
I did a lot of research on the splash guards. The popular choices were the cheap Ebay or the super expensive ones, I forget the brand. I used the ebay ones and bought the 3m moulding tape and it works fine. 2 factory screws and the 3m tape does the job!. -bobby

Those $40 ones look good.
But they also look small. The ones for $63 on ebay are the best protection, but you guys are probably right, they are also noticable. Decisions decisions Tony
