I speed on tracks. By the time I'm done, speeding on a public road doesn't even seem entertaining. And I'm old enough not to be in a hurry.

That said, I get to the speed limit rather quickly and cruise at 5 over (GPS calculated).

Had tickets before. I'm sure I'll eventually get one in the ZL1. Hopefully I get pulled over by a car guy/girl in uniform. It won't be for stupidity.

22k miles and no tickets. I was stopped once for doing the speed limit in a school zone, so I should have been doing 15 when children are present, I never saw the sign... too busy looking at palm trees and bikinis. Got a nod and a "be careful" while drifting the car off a light, I think the PoliceOfficer loved it as he knew I saw him before I did it Gotta let the Police have some fun just like you have to rev the engine for 8yr olds.

Safe driving is the important thing.

No tickets, had the car for 1 year.

However...quick story. Was riding with my wife when I first got the car and was rolling on the freeway entrance lane at 40 and went WOT on a straight entrance road that became an outside lane. There was a car two lanes over and just then I saw the Highway Patrol in the freeway median. Let off around 110-120 and was sure I was cooked. My exhaust had to be loud as I rolled by him even after letting out of the throttle but he didn't even pull out after me. I couldn't believe it. Maybe the other car gave me just enough coverage to block his radar (shrug). Have been more tame since then, and careful with high speed but its hard to let off sometimes...the car just wants to keep going well into the mid 100s.

True. Typically 75-80 on interstates. But have seen triple digit speeds a lot of times. Never had a radar detector, either.

I had mine for 10 days and got a 105 in a 55. Thing is, I wasn't even on the road yet. I was on the on-ramp trying to get on the road. The cop came from the other side of the overpass. Got me and a cammed SS for the same ticket. The cammed SS driver had just retired from a large auto insurance company too.

Got mine June last year and no tickets. I did get pulled over and given a written warning for 66 in a 60 leaving El Paso. I was like really?!!! I did get one for 86 in a 70 when I had my SS. Just wasn't paying attention to my speed and the county deputy was by the book. I had my license and registration out the window when he walked up and he still asked for it.

How did you handle this ticket?

Knock on wood - No ticket yet... I tend to drive very cautious, though.

This was my first ticket in over 20 years. I paid it and took the 6 point hit. I didn't have the desire to take it to court because we could have been ticketed for street racing, speeding in a construction zone, careless, etc. The $385 ticket was cheaper than the ticket my wife received for throwing a cigarette butt out the window. Took two deputies on a Saturday night to bring her down but the did it. $500 and 15 hours community service at a landfill. -_-

Doesn't count. You're not even out of the 1500 mile break-in period yet. Give it a couple hundred miles.
