New owner 2013 2SS/RS

Hey all, just bought a 2013 2SS with the RS package the other night. I was acutally in the market for a srt8 challenger and test drove 2. I wasnt as blown away as I thought i'd be, so I tried this 2SS. Wow, I love the car. Honestly didnt expect the fit and finish to be this good. I found a good deal on a low mileage (less than 13k) and ran with it. The hurst short shift is great, the interior is comfortable and the power is smooth. IT has NAV, HUD, flat black stripes, sunroof. From what I can tell my car is stock. Other than wheels and wider tires. The dual mode exhaust sounds good, and I may leave it a lone for a while. I'd like to do a CAI from Cold Air Inductions Inc, and lower the car some.

I sold a 1973 camaro to fund this endever.

I've owned 2 SRT-10 rams, and I have to say this car is more fun to drive then they were!

Excuse the crappy iphone pictures!

I look forward to meeting some new people, and learning what I can about this car.

Thanks!

Dan

wow, very nice and already has the zl-1 looking wheels. you will love the CAI by the way.... adding 16 HP and increasing you MPG is always good. Plus the LS3 will....BREATH!!

looks like the previous owner also upgraded the looks of the back and front bowtie.

Ya, I thought those were ZL1 wheels. Im not sure if they are replicas or the real deal. The bow ties are red on the front, back, and wheels. Also has SS floor/trunk mats. The tires are 275 front and 295 rear.

Congrats. I was in the exact same boat as you. I drove a Mustang GT, Challenger SRT and Camaro SS, along with a Hyundai Genesis Coupe, FRS and BRZ, Mazda 3, and a Focus. The Camaro was the only thing I drove that I immediately loved and was blown away by.

One thing I suggest with the NPP exhaust is to pull fuse #8 in the trunk fuse box. It prevents the butterfly valves from closing and will give it a louder sound at around 2k RPMs, which is where the car normally hits during everyday driving. I love the way the car sounds now, especially when decelerating.

Welcome! Nice choice in cars. Those wheels look great with the silver and black combo.

Really? Thats cool. I dont want to mess with the engineering that went into that NPP. Pulling that fuse is safe, and doesnt affect anything else in the car?

You should be fine pulling the fuse. Several on here have done it. Mine does not have the option as the L99's AFM does not like nice exhaust very easily...

Yeah, the reason the butterfly valves are there is for noise regulations. They are open under WOT, above about 3.5k RPM and at idle anyway but close between 1k and 3.5k which is just cruising speed. One thing you well notice is that the outside tips get really black really quick. This is because all the carbon is going out the path of least resistance, which is now the outside tips. Here is what my tips look like after about 20km of driving:

I do sometimes but it's really not worth it unless I do it everyday, because the next day they look exactly the same. I took that picture a day after I cleaned them.
