Wow!!! Excellent post, that pretty much sums up the hole thread. Moderators please close this thread, nothing else to talk about. This dude nailed it in every way possible.

The ZL1/GT500 feud has been going on since 2012 and it happened then as well. Do we wish the ZL1 had more hp? Damn right! But it's still a great car regardless of what the haters and detractors state.

I personally love the Hellcat, but I'm not oblivious to the shortcomings of it's chassis and heavy weight. Dodge played it safe by waiting until all research and development for the 5th gen Camaro and previous Mustang was done. They saw a small window of opportunity and took advantage of it. Smart marketing move on their part. Well done Dodge. The next couple of years will be very interesting with 6th gen Camaro on the horizon and new Mustang as well and expect the landscape to change again. Enjoy the forum.
Im not expecting everyone to openly love it, I just didn't think the fanboyism would run rampant here. I guess maybe I expected a tip of the cap and well played to dodge

Honestly, if Dodge introduced the Hellcat 2-3 years ago, I would have probably jumped all over it. The msrp makes it an absolutel steal, but I know greedy dealers will add their markups. I looked at two different SRT vehicles (Jeep SRT8 and Charger SRT) years ago and the mark up put both out of my price range.

I have not owned a Hell ***** (or any Dodge products for that matter) but I have owned 2 GT500s (both 2012 models) and now a ZL1. My ZL1 is every bit as fast as my GT500s and rides a hell of a lot better. Dodge could put 1000hp in that car and I still would not buy one. All the hp in the world doesnt make up for an ugly car and poor build quality. I don't know anyone that has had a Challenger and not had multiple quality issues. I have driven an SRT and that car is a pig and drives like one too. For about $1,000 my ZL1 will be pushing 630hp and and you can wave as I pass you on the street, the strip, and the road course.

How about this, my friend. I'll stay in my Camaro fantasy land which is full of just rewards and accolades from enthusiasts who appreciate a good honest coversation about our cars and you can go back and troll on your charger site or where ever you came from. We don't take to kindly to trolls here.

Just wondering, which "rewards" did the Camaro ZL1 get? Honest question...

Only available engine for us is the 650 hp LT4 that's going in the Z06.
Other than that, I don't see how we move out of 3rd place. I think that engine might be too expensive.

Well you do now, I owned a 12 SRT8 Challenger and never had one single issue. Three ram Trucks in the last 10-years no issues. With my SS the drive belt ate itself within 500-miles due to poor alignment on the crank pulley, then the alternator went after 3-months. The clutch was also POS. In my 5.0 well lets just say the MT82 was a complete piece of garbage locking me out of 2nd and 3rd gear at WOT.

Sure you can modify your ZL1 to be as quick or quicker than the Hellcat, but the problem is so can the Hellcat which begins life with a much better supercharger begging for more boost to be applied to the fully forged engine internals.

Not bashing the ZL1 as it most likely will be my next ride as the used prices continue to drop.
