At least one good thing - calipers painted

So with my muffler having a loud annoying rattle at 2000rpm, and then someone walking over my car and scratching the shit out of my stripes, at least I got the calipers painted this weekend (decals coming soon).

Now on to getting the exhaust fixed, and then maybe the stripes.

I really wanted new rims this year...sigh.

I had the same thing happen on my 2012 2SS. Is the rattling coming from the baffles on the pipes just in front of the rear tires? It's like a vibration noise when your just touching the gas at low RPM. GM came up with a cheap fix but I don't know if it really worked. They were going to put heat resistant o-rings on the baffles to eliminate the noise. I never found out though because the noise drove my wife bonkers when she road in the car. It bothered her so much that we traded it in and now I got a ZL1. Just saying...take your wife for a drive. Lol
Calipers look sweet.

lol. It annoys me more than her right now. My noise is inside the muffler, and it only happens when the car is "working" the exhaust. Rolling through 2000rpm won't make the noise, but accelerating quickly through it, it will.

Did you use a special paint for your calipers. I'm thinking about doing the same thing to mine. Or maybe take them down and have them powder coated

I used the G2 color matched paint system (www.g2usa.com). It's more expensive, but I wanted inferno orange calipers. If you're looking for red, there are way cheaper methods. Search for all the DIY caliper painting threads.

The G2 is a brush paint on system and we put on three coats before the paint started to get too hard to work with. You can get aerosol paint from almost anywhere, and I'm assuming those would look better. If you have the time and means, powder coating is definitely the way to go!

Thanks for the G2 link. I didn't know there was a special paint but was concerned with heat bubbling the finished paint job

Put the decals on this weekend, and three coats of VHT clear gloss caliper paint to protect them.
