I'm even going to email some guys at dynospeed for quotes and the best bang for the buck. Still don't know what brand I will be going with. My personal preference Is ARH because they are looked at as the best and kooks follow, stainless work sounds good. Like I said I guess the name is just bothering me. Going to go with the 2" system w/O cats. Hopefully it doesn't rain tomorrow so I can hang with you guys and go to MIR to do a few runs. It is a good chance of rain tomorrow so we will just have to see.

OAN: going to research transmission flushes and rear diff flush on the ZL1. It's time for some maintenance. Transmission fluids, and rear diff fluids. BG 44K comes in either today or Friday to clean the fuel system. Also depending on the weather, I may take my car to Serra and get them to check out why sometimes I smell burning oil or sometype of fluid burning but it smells like oil. Get them to check it out before I get to Modding. No oil leaking on the garage floor but only a smell from time to time. Going to research that as well tomorrow before going out there. I will create the Instagram for the club tomorrow. Someone text me the club logo pic so that I can use it as a profile picture. Goodnight all
AVOID DYNOSPEED AT ALL COSTS! Ryan at Gwaney is the only one I'd let touch any LS based car. Greg has provided his info. He does amazing work and is not afraid to let someone be faster than him. Thought about thermal coating for them as well? If you are going to go all out then have that done as well. Yea I am hoping it doesn't rain today either. Have to play it by ear. If you all go to MIR I might join. Not sure.

I recommend doing both. Made a difference in both my V6 and SS. Don't wait till 50k miles either. Wait no later than around 30k miles for the trans and rear diff. Also, if you plan on tracking it then definitely have it done. Those fluids get hotter when tracking and that wears them out. Make it a usual routine maintenance once you've done it. How is BG 44k compared to chevron techron? I've always used chevron techron in my cars. I'll text you the club picture here shortly.

Haha good idea. Otherwise they might just joy ride in your car.

And honestly...on headers...I would just get yourself a good set of Kooks or Stainless Works. ARH is good but they can be overpriced. No header is going to perform significantly better than another....is it worth 200 bucks to you for the name and 1-2 rwhp (if there's even a difference)? I guess that's a decision you have to make. If you want a good price, I have purchased almost ALL of my performance parts from Maryland Speed. They are a good vendor, ship quickly, and yes, the owner can be a little abrasive at times but he has good values and is a good person. He will cut you a deal to whatever he can and continue to do that for any parts you purchase.

GL

His car amazing too! I remember first time I met him. Real nice guy and honest. Maryland Speed is the place most people seem to get their headers from. I primarily purchase my mods from Apex-Speed for same reason Greg listed about Maryland Speed. And I've heard awesome things about http://www.jreperformanceparts.com/. Those are the first three places I usually go to for mods.

Chevron techron is garbage compared to bg44. I have experienced positive results from bg. I have not noticed any difference with the others.

Hmm interesting. I've always had positive results from chevron techron. My family and I always use Shell Premium gas too. May have to give bg 44k a shot next time. Not worried about the camry, but will see about my parents other vehicles (2013 Yukon and 2014 Sierra All-Terrain) which are both 5.3's.

+1 for avoid Dynospeed at all costs. In my own highly un-professional opinion, coating the headers is good if you want to keep the headers looking the same, doesn't really do much to keep down under hood temps...And if you've got a blower anyway, definitely won't have much temperature effect. They do look good though!

True for the 5th gens. They've done under hood temp tests with them and didn't make much difference, but in some cars it does. Not sure if Aston wants this car to eventually be a race car so suggested it. Also would go with his black out theme. Yea coated headers look great!

I'm new to the forum and just wanted to say hello. Also I was wondering about Dynospeed, I was about to carry my car to them for some work. Should I stay away from them? Thanks and look forward to talking to everyone.

hello and welcome! so you have a ZL1? that's awesome! I've heard a couple of people have had their engines blown a the dynospeed place. Greg has a great car and if he trusts that guy from Arkansas to work on his, it must be a pretty good place.

Do NOT carry your car there for any reason. They will rip you off, damage your vehicle, and not properly take care of it. I wouldn't let them touch anything.

I wouldn't take it there bud. Overprice because they are one of the only performance shops in Memphis. Xtreme is the other and they are just as bad. Truthfully, there is nobody in Memphis I trust to tune my car period. If I had just done so many mods to my car that I had couldn't drive it, I would pay to trailer it out to Arkansas to go to Gwatney Performance. That's how good they are.
