Seeing any type of serious hellcat engine mod will be a ways off. If you want to mod a car GM then ford. GM seems to have their computers unlocked the fastest and has a huge after market parts supply, EXCEPT FENDER FLARES. sorry had to get that in.
So i doubt you will see any major engine mods on the hellcat anytime soon.

. If anyone here thinks the HellCat won't be regularly over 700rwhp within 6 months of popular release, you're silly or completely lost in modern car modifications. It's already going 10s on DR's, completely untouched. I'm faster than 97% of you with less than 3k in mods, twin turbo and all wheel drive, and even I'm concerned about the Hellcat. I'll probably go alpha 10 or so just for piece of mind. GM is playing 3rd fiddle no matter how you slice it. People are touting ring times ONLY because the HC hasn't released them or hasn't accomplished them yet. Tell me I'm wrong. Aside from the ZR1, GM is gong to get SKULL drug in straight line competition. Popular vote here would say, "that's not how you measure a "fast" car". Ok, I'll listen, point me to the most popular "road racing fast list" thread and then point me to the most popular "1/4 mile fast list" thread. We can base what popular opinion on what a "fast" car is from that, no? I value your guys opinion and look forward to a spirited debate. I think jessyo and mylftft are exceptions to the rule and have some dangerously fast cars. I really want GM to produce a competition to these hellcats, but I fear the price will be too much. 60k for a HC? At that price point, I might have to make one my daily driver. I'd choose a 10.xxx daily over the obviously more visually appealing Z everyday of the week, and twice on Sunday ![]() Just because I'm an import now, doesn't mean I'm anti domestic. Actually, quite the opposite. You US faithful restore my faith in humanity. You guys keep my faith in the US market alive. Take care, guys. Go fast and leave nothing in the dust

The challenger is going to need solid subframe bushings just like the camaro. It makes a big difference in handling and traction. If manual I see adding solid engine mounts. I think the number of people modding this car will drop because at 700hP why void your warranty? The other issue is tuning and how fast the computer will be able to accept custom tunes. In dodges case that is always the longest part.

I’d disagree on tuning being available for the Hellcat in 6-months, with the 392 Challenger it took 1.5 years and even then it was limited. Maybe I am wrong, but my guess is with 700+ already Dodge will not make it easy to break the computer codes. Maybe a kit similar to Jannetty’s non tune for the ZL1 will become available? Now this doesn’t mean that the Challenger will be idle. Recently we found out that the 10:80s were run on Nitto 555rs which everyone who has spent time at the strip knows they are only slightly better than street rubber. A switch to NT05Rs or M/Ts should pick up a few tenths. Switching to lightweight rims and skinnies up front should net a bit more. Fall air is coming and should coincide with the car’s release. Is there a 10:50s in the car with non-tune mods?

The rest of the world disagrees with us. They cannot understand why America has the fixation with drag racing and straight line speed. They want a car that can be a track star, not a drag racer. This is especially true in Europe and Japan. While I am 100% American to a fault, I have to side with the Euros on this. I want a track car, but with all the creature comforts. I also want a back seat. The only cars that satisfied that for me were the Shelby and the ZL1. We love NASCAR here (mostly boring oval tracks). The rest of the world likes Formula One. Again, I have to come down on the side of the rest of the world. Take that for what it's worth. Opinions are like a$$holes, everyone has one and they usually stink.

Since tuning is now part of the conversion, dodge has made it too hard to program any of their new 14 and up vehicles,so unless your happy with a stock car or just a CAI it comes down to ford or GM....
The GM at a dodge dealer I spoke to said that dodge is going to start actively going to start going after modified vehicle owners by turning down their warranty claims.. Most tuners are no longer going to be offering custom tunes for any of the hemi vehicles, I spoke to Hennessy today about my 14 hemi, nothing and no plans on even doing the wildcat...When i called around about installing a blower on my 14,even one of the biggest dodge shops turns down anything with a 8 speed trans now... DS has come out with tuning claiming that any tuning they offer is untraceable to ford when put back to stock, and ford has made it easy for the most part for the aftermarket.GM has always had great software to write programs to tune with..dodge is going out of their way to shut out the aftermarket, So while its a great number at 707hp we as hot rodders are always wanting more...granted someone may come out with products that do not need a re-tune CAI Cat back's but without a tune the bang per buck is pretty low normally.. Yes some can tunes have just come out for the 14 hemis, but its mild, and good luck with power adders etc... So, I ordered a new ford ecoboost today, its the first ford i have purchased since my 1986 lx mustang.. ...I have to be able to play with whatever I own even if it weighs almost twice what a vett does..

Cars.com tested the Hellcat at a drag strip, on stock street tires, and provided the timeslips. 11.40's consistent 1/4 mile:
http://blogs.cars.com/kickingtires/2...the-strip.html I know it is not an 11.2, but considering it is the peak of summer, and maybe some DA considerations, an 11.2 is definitely feasible... ...on stock tires. Corresponding vid: |

And 11.7 is feasible for a stock ZL1. Pretty easy to make up the difference either by GM or the general public.
