so wait... you've not lived in Philly, but decided to take a shot at it anyways?

it always amazes me how few people know why Philadelphia is called the "city of brotherly love." lemme clear this up for ya. from google: "The City of Brotherly Love, which comes from the literal meaning of the city's name in Greek (Greek: Φιλαδέλφεια (, Modern Greek: ) “brotherly love”, compounded from philos (φίλος) “loving”, and adelphos (ἀδελφός)." so there ya have it. the actual translation of "Philadelphia" from Greek is "brotherly love." also, it's a city.

i'd also post the meaning of "oymoron" but i still don't think you'd use it right...

That sounds like a borderline racist comment.

I've only been to Philly about ehh1000 times.. you're right I didn't live there, that's why never said I did..BTW Philadelphia and brotherly love completely an oxymoron..

Stop it...just stop. Stop allowing the media to dictate what words "actually mean".

Nope, but I installed medical equipment at nearly every hospital in Chicago, so next time you're not feeling well, think about that.

Florida is funny. People who visit only see Orlando, Miami, Tampa, but you get west of I95 or up in the panhandle and it's a whole different world. Naples is a great area, especially for the retired sophisticated folks, but head over to Dade City or Okeechobee and there are plenty genuine Crackas. Hell YeHaw Junction is not that far from Naples.

The 'burgh ranked below Detroit.

Philly gets all the state's tax money for a reason. It's still alive
This couldn't be any farther from the truth. Pittsburgh is an awesome city. The people are nice, the city is beautiful, there are tons to do in and around the city. It's light years better than the Philly area. I would just about want to hang myself than to work in Philly anymore. While I still do and am happy to do so work in Pittsburgh when something comes up for out there.

I live in Bensalem Pa, that's about 45 minutes from Media. It's not that bad here you'll adjust. When are you moving? Do you have kids? You have to experience the Jersey Shore (Wildwood boardwalk) then I want you report back and tell me what you think of it. It is fun for all ages!

Yeah, I love how northerners are always moving south and then try to tell you how much better life was back up north. You always get that same blank stare when you ask them "if it was so great there, why'd you leave?"
They spend their entire working lives in a crowded place with ridiculously expensive cost of living, high taxes, and crappy weather. Then they retire and move south. As soon as they get there, they forget why they left.
I have neighbors from New England who never miss an miss an opportunity to tell us that we are just a bunch of dumb hillbillies. Then they complain that they can't make friends around here. Duh!
Think about it, how often do you hear about someone retiring and moving NORTH?
