Question Combine my key fob?

When I got my keys two days ago, I got them in two pieces -- the remote fob and the key. I believe (but may not be remembering correctly) that my old 2010 key was embedded into the remote fob.

The fob is still spring loaded and looks like it can hold a key. I think I'd really prefer it as one piece rather than two dangling together.

How can you combine these and put the key back into the remote control fob?

Thanks!!

I can't remember the thread exactly, but it is along the lines of "reversing the key recall..."

Ohhhhhhhhh that's the key recall? I thought about that right after I posted it -- since I didn't have a Camaro during the recall, I wasn't sure....I should've googled that first.

I'd love info though...I'll be looking how to reverse it.

I can confirm that that works - I followed the steps for my 2014 Camaro and have the switchblade back.

DO NOT combine the key and the FOB! Youre knee will hit the FOB and the car will go KABOOM!

I actually welcome this change. If additional keys are attached to the current switchblade design, they would hang over my knee, so I do not do it for the annoyance factor. Once separated, I can go back to having a work and home key on my car keys, and stiop having to dig for keys.

Boy you are really living on the edge. The weight of your work and home keys along with the car key equates to weight of the deadly switchblade. As previously stated, your car could go kaboom! You will defeat the purpose of GM's problem solving. LOL....

Be careful. If they become aware that we actually put keys on our keychains, our keys in the future may not have a key ring.

So they separated the fob and key just so we can have the fob dangling from a keychain? I'm not seeing the advantage of this.

actually if they find out we are putting keys on rings and hanging from rings, they may make us use push-button starts. How awful!!!

I took my car in for differential service and they tried to get me to accept the key recall.

I refused to sign the work order for the key recall and they were cool with that.

Push button (keyless) locks or your house can solve that.
I got them and never have to worry about getting locked out, Unless the wife is mad.
