Tune after Mod upgrades

In the next few days I will be installing some mods to my 14 1LE (CAI Intake, SS Works cat-back exhuast/ LT's headers) and want to know what is the best route for tuning a daily driver. I don't plan on turning it into a full race car just wanted to add some power and sound. Whats the difference between a dyno tune vs a Diablo Programmer (Mail Order Tune)? Is the Diablo route cheaper and somewhat just as efficient?

Dyno tunes are better ,but a base tune by a good tuner who knows what he is doing works fine for you mods . Go to the tune section on here and ask who is good in your area. A bad tune and tuner can give you problems you don't want . Go with a proven tune for your octane fuel 91 or 93 if available and someone whas has a good rep and lots of experience.

I've always been a believer in datalogging on the actual road, with a laptop and hand held device, with a capable tuner to back it all up remotely.

La crème de la crème would be the above, PLUS a local dyno tuner, who supports your hand held device manufacturer! Best of ALL worlds!

I have similar mods and went with Jannetty tune, it was cheaper than local dyno and worked great for me.

If find someone local and just get a street tune. Should be cheaper than dyno tune and still give you good gains

Is a little bit more power worth losing the warranty? I wanted to tune too till I found out it's different then German cars where you can tune and not void warranty or remove a non-approved tune. I am however thinking about a supercharger but then the amount of power gained will be worth losing the warranty for.

I wonder what Mr. good wrench would make of you showing up for service or warrantee work with headers and Non certifyed cats and no tune but a CEL lit up . No tune = CEL sooner or later . FYI it is illegal to put long tubes and HF cats on you vehicle to begin with unless they meet fed standards and have an approval . Not that any one care ,but your mods need to meet fed standards . I wonder just how to overcome both the law and the warrantee should the need arise .

If you think you'll get warranty work done on an engine with a CEL from mods you're sadly mistaken.

If you're worried about warranty get a intake and ported tb. No Lt headers

I know it's kind of scary doing a dyno tune so early, but I personally thought it was worth the risk. Just gone my 14' 1LE done last week with 2300 miles on it. I had second thoughts waiting for my tune day since my car was running so well. The ARH headers, CAI, and PTB really woke my car up.
My car baseline after those mods at 410whp & 403ftlbs. When the tune was done, I ended up at 425whp & 413ftlbs. So the end numbers wasn't such a huge gain. BUT, I can easily feel the difference. Before the tune, and even with the mods, my car hooked up awesome. Now with the tune it's a totally different story. I broke the tires loose, unintended I must add, more times this past weekend than the entire 3 months I've owned the car. I even broke it loose in 2nd gear from a roll a few times. Granted it was on blacktop, but those sticky Goodyear F1's never thought about a rolling 2nd gear spin before the tune. Not even close.
So I say bite the bullet and get a true dyno tune. I don't think you will regret it.

I concur.

But if you are a picky dude like I am, I'll bet a few coins that if you datalog with the above mods mentioned, WOT datalog at 3rd gear and over 5000 RPM, you might hit a bit of KR due to a smidgen lean. I know this to be the case with LT's and CAI with scoop and no tune, but I suspect even without LT's, some KR may kick in.
