Car Finally Back from the Bodyshop
Well I got it back today, the paint work seems good. A lot better than the car was in when I took it in even before the vandalism. I would to say that where they are lacking is the cleanup work. They called me yesterday and said it was done so I drove about 45 minutes in traffic over there to get it and when looking at the car they had failed to put my camaro emblem back on the fender and also there was a small scratch on the newly painted fender, really hard to see but it was there. There was also leftover schmutz on the fender and in the crevices where the panels meet I guess from where they had buffed it or whatever. So I had to drive home without my car back come back this morning so they could clean it up. Everything was fine this morning and then I noticed the Camaro emblem was put on with one of the A's crooked, by then I just f you and left. I had a spare set of side badges in my toolbox at home and just fixed it myself because I wasn't going to sit there and wait an hour for them to fix it.
Basically this entire side was repainted, and the front bumper was replaced.

Looks good. I wouldn't know it had been damaged

We always wish that when we take our cars to be serviced and or repaired that the professionals would take pride in their work. Unfortunately this isn't always true and seems to have gotten progressively worse over the last 10 -15 years..Took my corvette a few years ago back to the dealer to have clutch replaced, I took it to my mechanic to be fixed a week later..It was less stressful to get it done right than work with an incompetent dealer..Sucks that you had to deal with this kind of piss poor customer service

That sucks man. Hopefully insurance paid for this. I hate when body shops half ass work like this. The overall look is nice though.

Most body shops don't even work on car bodies anymore. They're panel replacement specialists or whatever. God help you if you have rust damage or an old vehicle they can't swap a panel or two and paint and finish the job in 3 days or less. Sure, the minor ding here and there they will do. They'll pop some putty on it, sand down the quarter panel and spray away, but usually not even in a booth.
If Walmart had a body shop, this is the quality I would expect from MOST body shops nowadays. Not saying they're intentionally bad, but time is money, and they do it only for the dollars moreso than their artistic abilities. There's still a few good ones out there, but only a few. Go hunt for one.

Sounds like they reused the old emblems?

Most bodyshops will always leave you with some "homework" to do. With me, it's usually tons of swirl marks or wetsand marks from their cut-n-buff stage.
