Arrow To upgrade or not to upgrade.....

I have an SLP supercharger and currently running a 3.4" pulley and I'm getting about 10 psi. I'm currently at 620 rwhp and am wondering if I should upgrade to 3.2" pulley. That would put me around 12 psi of boost. I have a dual fuel pump and ID850 injectors so I'm not worried about fuel. I have cams with up graded springs and rods. Do you think this will be safe for the engine without any additional upgrades? My goal is 650-700 max. Thanks for any input.

You will get belt slip most likely. Go with an over drive rear gear instead. Keep the RPMs down and the motor should live a long time.

Keeping the rpm's down takes away all the fun though.

Lol yea just got to learn to have fun at 6200 rpm. A boosted stock rotating assembly may come out and say hi if you try and rev it like an LS7!

I think an SLP blower is short a couple of pulleys behind the blower. Might make overdriving it a bit difficult. Try a 3.2 with the shortest Gatorback belt that will fit. Add a little alky and enjoy!

Safe? Who knows. A good tune will help. No sure things at that HP level though. If a scattered motor will change your life style.....don't do it

Running a 3.2" on mine, no slip on the front DD setup, not sure which one the OP has though. 10 psi at 100* IAT's. 1.85 roller rockers on the stock cam, Kook's stepped headers & catless. The Corn Burner helps keep the exhaust temps in check though. If you are running pumpgas consider meth as was posted.

Go for it.

I have the 3.4" pulley from Jannetty racing. they are also the ones that have the smaller pulley I'm looking at. I do plan to get a meth kit to go along with it. Since I already have a decent cam, I don't think the 1.85 rockers will help much but I'm not 100% sure. Thanks for all the help guys.

I wasn't suggesting the rockers, just explaining my setup.

1.85 rockers depending on your cam may put the valves into your pistons.

My 3.2 " pulley was from Ted as well. Good luck and Mo Powa!
