How much of a difference is this vs the stock SS shifter? Im trying to keep my warranty so ive been looking at these.

What does the knob look like? Is this just plug and okay after removing old boot? 2010 SS here

Is all new shifter reducing the throw . New shift mechanism ,boot knob.
Not sure what it takes ti install it . I was going to have dealer do it for $175

Out of town this week I will post photo of knob when back
