LS1 M6 stock gearing is 3.42.
I have one too, with the mods in my sig.

The ZL1 is definitely faster, and i have 50hp more than stock in my 01 ls1.
And your 99 should have an ls1 intake as compared to my 01, which came with the ls6 intake.

As soon as I was able to buy a brand new ZL1 for the price I paid for my used one, that was signal enough. Buy a hellcat...you'll regularly see them in the low 10s or high 9s within the next year.
Sorry Man, but I am not buying into any of this. Don't get me wrong, I like the GTR's perfomance, but that's where it ends in my eyes. Not a driver's car by no means.

The ZL1 in the right hands can perform on the street and strip just fine. On my 3rd pass in this car with just a Roto-fab this car ran 12.7 at 113 MPH in 2500 DA. My CTS-V ran 12.4 at 114 in an Auto on its 5th pass in 1400 DA bone stock. The V went deep into the 10's at 130 MPH still on Warranty without cracking the valve covers with bolt-ons and no drugs. I expect similar gains in the ZL1 with the same mods.

Back to the OP, you need to put your Ride on dyno to see if you have an issue. Their is enough dyno data on this board to know where your HP/TQ should be in an Auto bone stock. Take that data and go from there.

So.....12.7@113 is "fast"? In my opinion...12.7 is very lightly modded 98-02 LS1 territory. If you're ok with a $60k running 12.7, awesome. I'm not. I'm calling BS on "deep 10s" with a factory warranty. I'd love to know how you did that without flashing the computer. An auto and bolt on ZL1 can go 10's and has plenty of times, I'm not disputing that. However, it's not the norm.

I loved the looks of my ZL1, really I did. The car just was not fast enough for me. It lacks traction, power and is overweight. All issues that a fast car shouldn't have. I'm glad you guys are still enjoying your cars, even if they're slow :p

Lol. Ok, I'll entertain this. According to the Livernois, you're already wrong about the weight. Care to recant and try that again? Assuming an average male driver, figure that's a 4100- 4115lb car...

But to answer your question, I expect it to do a lot more than barely break 10s.
It's a heads, cam, injector, pulley(s), heat exchanger, bogarts with bigs and littles, and "aggressively" tuned car. Let's see the price to replicate this from Livernois. Let's then throw this same "mod money" at another car...let's see who comes out on top. Deal?

As I have said...I would agree that the Z looks better, but with all the clones out there, it gets a little muddy. I would agree that it's (GTR) certainly getting "dated" looking. I bought the car because it performs, nothing more. I like to go fast in straight lines...that's it. I recognize some people like different aspects of automotive performance and I won't bash that (even though the GTR is 23 on ring times vs 47th for the ZL1 ). I actually do like all aspects of "fast cars". I just wish the top Camaro wasn't playing catch up to the Hellcat. My personal opinion is, if you are a mid 40's dude with a low-mid level management job and a wife you bang one or twice a month with a 100 shot golf game, the hellcat is your kind of car. Everyone else should drive something cool
