Outstanding product and customer service
Nightowl is a great system and the customer service provided is outstanding - far greater than you will find with most companies.
I highly recommend Nightowl - there is no comparison. |

I love the system my only issue is it drains the battery if left on.

I have owned my car for 5 years and have more LEDS than most. On three occasions had the batter die. Two prior to the Night Owl system and another recently. All assocaited with being out of town or not starting car for over 3 weeks. I learned to use a Battery tender now when not driving for long periods |

What is left on, lights, or, just modules? As stated, there should be a switch to kill them when not needed.

I'm running 3 modules in the Camaro, 2 in the Mustang. The Mustang modules are wired hot...1 of the 3 in the Camaro...No issues with batteries going soft on either. I went on a business trip for a week and forgot to hook up the trickle charger....Camaro started right up when I returned. I've had the LEDs on Barricade turned on for 5 hours at a car show once....no issues.
I suspect your battery is getting ready to croak....or you have another significant drain in your system.

I have the kill switch and use it but i figured there wouldnt be much draw on this since its just the 2 leds and the wifi connected. since then i only use the lights when im at a show. My other issue just popped up Sunday my remote no longer works i have trying to get it to rediscover it but it says it cant see it.
One other thing when i left it on I would hit the stop all and it would kill the lights but an hour or 2 later the lights would pop back on. just kinda weird for me.

As for the remote, you may need to change the battery. Be sure to put it back in the way it came. You should never need to rediscover the remote. Once it is paired, it is paired. You can also try resetting the master (unplug it and plug it back in). You can test the battery with a volt meter. Should read > 2.9V. If you are still having issues, contact me directly. When you say that you "come back 2 hours later and the lights would pop back on", do you mean it comes back to default, or what exactly happens? Which lights? |

Yes, I have them and are known for battery drain. My battery would dead or near dead after a week of sitting.Installed well before Night Owls.

I have over 6 modules on my car, and sometimes I forget to plug in the battery tender. After a couple of weeks, the battery is fine. Repeatedly draining a battery will kill it, even though a battery tester could still show it as good. One weak cell is all it takes.
A multi-meter can be used to measure the current. It is a good test tool. Also, if you have an aftermarket amp or stereo, make sure it isn't tapped into the center console outlets if you use our jumper to leave the center console on at all times. An amp will drain a battery. |
