No offense meant to you, it's just an argument that's always bothered me. Something I grew up hearing from Honda Civic drivers. You're probably right about there being more left on the table with the ZL1 but it looks like the Hellcat may be underrated if the dyno run from the article is any indication.

Another thing not mentioned is aftermarket tuning. Dodge's are notorious for tuning so adding additional power to a hellcat and then getting the computer to adjust properly is going to be difficult at best, where as GM is no problem at all.

That's another good point. The jury is still out on the reliability of the Hellcat. Is it maxed out and hanging on for dear life from the factory or did they do it right? I damn sure wouldn't want a first year model if I was in the market for one.

You're talking about custom part this and aftermarket part that. That's all fine and dandy, but you act like there are going to be no go fast parts available for the Hellcat. Yeah, the tuning is hard to crack, but it's not like it hasn't been done up to this point. I had a '14 SRT Jeep Grand Cherokee that was tuned even though the factory tune was "locked". It's funny how defensive people get when this car is mentioned. I have a ZL1 and love it, but I can admit that the Hellcat is a beast without getting my panties in a bunch.

The 2015 warranty isn't on the Dodge site yet but as of 2014, taking your Challenger to the track will void your warranty. I met a guy a the strip that told me the dealers check the wheel well for rubber.

If anyone is stupid enough to take their car to the dealership with burnt rubber in the wheel well, they deserve to have their warranty denied.

I am sure they could run a diagnostic and find if you have, GM doesn't care.

You can take yours with white numbers still on the window and rubber in the wells.

Well that will be something the people who buy the car will have to deal with, it that turns out to be the case on the Hellcat. I would imagine it would be tricky for them to void warranties on bone stock cars after they have put so much time and energy providing "NHRA certified" times, but I haven't read the fine print.

Says a lot about a car and a company that builds a car with a ton of power for racing but if you race it they will void the warranty.

plus when you do smoky burnouts it is tough to get all of the rubber out of your wheel wells.

Perhaps someone will come up with a wheel well "condom" for all those Hello Kitty Cat owners so they can do a burnout. It would have to be pink...
