advice on ride height?
So i just installed a set of essentially brand new pfadt featherlight coilovers and camber plates today on my 1LE and holy cow what a difference as if the car didnt handle amazing already!!!! However I am having an issue with where my ride height should be I was told ride height should be 685mm front and rear lowered. My stock ride height on my 14 1LE was 665mm front and 685mm rear measured from wheel lip to fender. Anyone have any input on where I should be I believe right now I'm at 645mm front 650mm rear, the car is primarily driven on track.

Pete x of Pedders says best height with 20 inch wheels is 660mm front and rear.I dont remember all the reasons, some maybe for good rear axle angle. Mine are at 654mm and that was only a 1 inch front and 1.2 inch rear drop from stock on my SS

Ditto.
Any lower and you do have issues with the rear axle angle, it will degrade and eventually destroy your axles. (Destroy might be a strong word but they will break) T.

Take Justice Pete's advice about 660mm ride height! Before he posted that I set my ride height to 650mm and had problems with axle boot splitting!

Pfadt recommended 29-29.25" from the ground to the fender with 28.7" OD tires. Yours are 27.9" so they would say 28.6-28.85" for you. I would stay on the high side of that for shock travel especially in the rear
What size tires would your run with the 18 or 19s? |

18s,635mm. 19s,647mm. Measured from top of wheel arch thru wheel center line to wheel lower lip. It is THE most accurate way to measure ride height.

didnt think it was that touchy. I'm at 657 in the rear, friend was 651 with 19s and raised him to 654 after he got 20s. Will keep an eye on things

i've always measured from the wheel lip to fender just how i was taught. Just interesting cause my stock front height was 665 so only 5mm drop

Tire pressures should be lower on the track than the street by 15lbs ( 27 ~42) so, measuring from the bottom lip to the arch will change even with that little pressure change. The different rim diameter should be half of the change. 19" will be 1/2" , 18" will be 1"... I believe.

I believe 660mm was what pedders recommended for their suspension. I'm not sure if that was for damper travel or suspension geometry. Different shocks/struts have different optimal heights, which comes from the internal design of the damper, as well as OAL and total damper travel. based on pfadts recommendation in the installation manual for them, the pfadts can go low enough to where your concern should be axle angle, and suspension geometry, not as much damper travel.
