Yeah good luck with that repair!

To my knowledge the only way to properly repair would be to re-powdercoat the entire wheel.

I see the repair wheels business is booming!

I've has this happen too on my aftermarket set of rims. Very frustration to pay $1400 for a set of performance tires just to have the shop scratch your rims.

Sorry to hear that OP. I just had my tires replaced on my car. I took it to a dealer. They knew how particular I am with my car. They have a mechanic who works on Corvettes and Camaros exclusively. I have to say except for replacing one of my lug nuts with a locking lug nut he did a great job. I was told it could be at least 2-3 hours for him to mount and balance all of them The rep. said that the mechanic is very particular how he works and is meticulous. If they did damage any of the wheels I can tell you they would be replacing them.

I was also told that the lubricant ? he uses to get the tire on the rim takes a least 24 hours to dry. I was warned not to spin the tires for at least 48 hours. They said there have been issues when guys get their new tires on their Corvettes they need to see how they "handle" and they actually spin the tire on the rim!!! Not Good.

Anyway I hope you get it taken care of. If it was me I would make them REPLACE each wheel they damaged. You should not take your car somewhere to get work done just so you get it back damaged. That is unexceptable!!

We are lucky here in Phoenix to have a high end tire and wheel shop that doesn't mess up. Wheel Specialist in Tempe Az is where most of us go that want the work done right. They were also the only shop that could balance my GTO wheels good enough that the steering wheel didn't shake. Look to see if you can find a shop like that around where you live.

A Firestone messed up the wheels on my C6 and the repair job was horrid. They were just painted and a poor job at that.

were your wheels painted or powder coated? correctly powder coated wheels are hard to scratch.

If you're talking to me my wheels were powdercoated originally and Firestone had some company paint them. I wasn't happy.

jon6.0 good wheel shops are hard to find. camaro5 maybe now is the time to find a good powder coat and have them done right. correct powder coating can stand a lot of abuse.

I spoke to the manager about my concerns with the previous repair on my last wheels that were damaged. He said it won't be an issue with the company they use.

My plan is to clean my wheels this weekend before I take them in for repair, have the manager visually see the condition, quality, and finish of the OEM. I will also snap pictures.

My intention is that is if they do not come back in the same condition as OEM or have any type of imperfections in the quality of the repair, I am going to have them replace all 4. I'm going to make that very clear to he manager.

I've been through this before with discount and I have yet to have any luck with these repair jobs. Both times discount saw the finish and agreed it sucked and made a deal to replace them.

why is it so hard to get work done correctly by people who you would think take pride in there work. takes just as much effort to do a good job as a sh*t one. don't people have pride in the work they do. step back and say I did that. OK to much preaching

Only two places trust. ADM and Classic. I originally planned for classic to do the tires but I decided to go closer to home. Learned my lesson.

obviously the person changing your tires over was a true professional. Its always a great idea for the manager of a tire place to let a rookie work on a 60k car.
