Exclamation Meth kit?

Due to a discussion in another thread about meth kits and superchargers it got my gears turning. Although it probably wouldn't be the cheapest option it would be different and should work. What if an V6 had full bolt on, a set of gears. Owners is looking to make more power but doesn't wanna add forced induction or nitrous. What kinda of gains do you think could be had on installing a meth kit on a NA car? Although not much with just a meth kit. The meth kit would clean up carbon deposit put in the engine over time, it would slow your computer to run more timing because the way I understand it it acts almost like an octane booster. So what if somebody added a meth kit to a full bolt on lfx AND tuned it to run on 93 octane, and went with custom forged pistons for a decent bump in compression ratio? I feel like 30-45ish up could be obtained from a high compression build on meth. Add some gears to that and it'd feel like a completely new car and would be VERY responsive. And comments? Has anyone done this to a v6 camaro before? Am I being realistic as far as expecting those gains?

With 93 octane you probably aren't going to see any timing pulled under normal conditions (when it is very hot you might, see below). Given there is a limit to how far you can advance the timing, I would say the short answer is no.

Now, meth also lowers IATs which results in a denser air charger. That may add a few ponies, but not a whole lot.

Increasing the CR is something we've talked about some. I do think you will see some gains from that, but it all depends how high you go. You may find that a 12.5:1 CR will run just fine on 93 octane. You would be in unknown territory at that point.

Well I put 93 octane in now even stock I'm not saying it needs it or anything but if I were to get a tune to access the higher octane tables in the Ecu i should be able to advance timing a bit just by running on 93 octane with a tune for it. Now adding meth and running on 93 should let me advance my timing enough to run a safe at a higher compression ratio ten stock. And by swapping out the pistons for a proper set I could increase compression even more. But the meth kit should keep it at a safe level. Idk like I said it's just a though, I know ips and ipf are proven packages and the easiest way to go to make great power. Just thinking outside the box a bit

Here's the thread where we were discussing some similar ideas.

A meth kit probably wouldn't do a whole lot on our cars, as discussed. Just like anything over 93 doesn't really have impressive gains either. Anyway. Gears don't do a whole lot for our cars because they're geared so well. The ideal ratio would be to do the SS 3.45 gears or the Richmond 3.55 gears, because the 3.91s push you out of the power band unless you're running a high HP lower torque build like the IPF super.

Good ideas though... Got me thinking again.

Well I will most likely join the ipf SC family when the time comes and funds allow. For now the 3.91 should wake my car up a bit. But was just thinking out loud, I'd love to see a higher compression 350-375crank NA build on our cars one day. Seems like boost is just so easy.

Very interesting, can you compare and contrast that set up from the stock ipf set up(before you added meth and all that goodness)
