I LOVE THIS CAR..........BUT

The gas....MPG....is awful. Just hit 2k miles and I feel like I have filled up 15 times. This is depressing...other than the occassional get on it for fun, normal driving MPG is terrible. I feel like I have to buy another car and just park the 1LE for weekend rides. What a great car, what crappy MPG.

Sorry I know there are other threads but just an extra annoying day.

What were you expecting from a 426 hp V8 that is around 4,000lbs? Someone didn't do their Homework or they were just in denial at the time of purchase.

I drive my daily driver's if I have errands or trips to make. I'm getting around 13-14 MPG in the Camaro, but it doesn't have to drive very often. I get far less in some of the other fun cars (I remember the '69 454 Firebird I had for a while was averaging 8-10 MPG. My little Blazer, for running around town, does far better.

it does get better..

not sure why, but every GM I have owned over the past 15 years or so needs 5,000 - 7,000 for break in and then the MPG seems to get better..

my daily commute is 31 miles to and from work, when I got my SS in Aug 2012 I was getting 12-14mpg, since about Oct 2013 I have been getting 17-19mpg, for the same commute, the same route, the same time of the day.. Nothing has really changed.

yeah the whole summer/winter gas thing has an effect, but overall I have seen the MPG get better as the odometer goes higher..

something else to consider, the vehicle is new, and like most people (myself included) you are probably "testing" its limits a bit and driving it a little more aggressively than you normally would and over time that will also change..

6.2L is not eco friendly in the slightest.

I get 17 in mine. Daily drive it to work about 5miles one way. Not amazing, but way better than the 10mpg lifted 4x4 I traded for it.

Its not a 2500lb 4cyl car, what did you really expect?

that's why my C6 sits most of the time. And premium is not cheap.

4000lb car with 426hp and 3.91 gears. Not sure what you were expecting. Then again, whats more important to you, Miles per gallon or SM1LES per gallon?

I can get 25-28 on the highway depending on the wind and hills. Use cruise control everywhere you can
