Back louvers trashed in less then 10k miles from tires

Has anyone had the louvers in the back quarter panel trashed from the front tires throwing gravel? The Corvette and a lot of pick up trucks all have a guard (clear plastic coating) to prevent this, why does the ZL not have it? In 9k miles I had to have them painted and the guards made. was not cheap to have done? I feel this is a mfg. flaw and chevy should have covered this.

This why many of us have clear bra applied to the gills area and possibly add front mud flaps.

We also have clear bra applied to the front facia to protect it from stone chips as well.
