I ask because (see mods below), I am on stock tires and no surprise, I can't hook up. Too much spin and power chop even in PTM 5. Just spit balling some ideas to try and get off the line w/o spinning and chopping the power.

you can do it and launch in D instead of M. It may be faster in D due to the traction gained but why bother. If you get drag radials and launch the way it is intended...

I just spent about $5,500.00 in Mods and labor, right now I am tapped on Cash and the wife is ready to divorce me and crush the car. Believe me, if that was an option, I would be doing it right now. I have a Rally in the valley race next week and I'm just looking for ways to improve my launch and 60' times with what I have. Any other tips and tricks would be greatly appreciated.

you can air down the stock goodyears to 20-22 psi and do a medium burnout with them and be slightly tenative on the launch. If you stomp the accelerator to the floor, you will spin and ruin the run. Don't preload against the brake very much either...just go barely over idle to preload the chassis and squeeze the throttle to 1/2 then gently squeeze the rest of the way to wide open and see what happens. Most of what traction is available has to do with track prep and how much traction compound is applied to the racing surface. Adjust accordingly depending upon your results. Try it in M with no paddles.

You think there will be any issues with the way the car handles at 120 MPH at those tire pressures?

It might move around abit at the top end but it's not that bad. I run my slicks at 16 PSI at 130mph and it's not that bad

no...at 20-22psi on stock goodyears it will be solid as a rock. You will be at those higher mph #s for only a few seconds. Slicks and other softer sidewall tires wig-wag a little above 120 (esp bias tires).

I've been wondering what the best launch technique is until i get DRs. It's nice to finally get a clear, detailed explanation. From my experience (what little it is so far), this seems like a good technique for the stock tires
