SCT TUNER

Hey guys I've done some research about the SCT TUNER, but I couldn't find any information on torque management. I was wondering if anyone knows if it can turn off torque management on a LS3 6spd car? I'm thinking of purchasing one but want to make sure that it turns off the torque management. Thanks for the help guys!

, 1st sentence says he's done research. I mentioned what 90% of the LS tuning world uses to tune. More research never hurts.

I would eventually be getting a dyno tune, just for now I was looking into a handheld tuner until I get some more bolt ons. I know dyno tuning is the best way to optimize my performance. Just not sure if it's worth it now and then again when I get long tubes and such.

I have the SCT X4, they dont work this way. You buy the device empty and you need to add a custom tune that will enable you to control some the car functions.

You cant control it manually as you like. The tuner will do it for you.

I guess that Hypertech and Diablo offer what you want.

Sorry. This is wrong. The SCT does have adjustable parameters. Not much but it does. These features are locked out from some tuners. They even sell a SCT that comes with 3 preloaded tunes.

But I have to agree with 62 on this. HPT and EFI Live are better options. You are not held to the few that use SCT and for basically the same money you have so many more options.

Take HPT for example, while you have full control over your cars parameters it doesn't stop you from getting a remote tune. Any tuner can email you a file for it

Then mine was locked because it was completely empty. The adjustable parameters appeared only after I received the custom tune !!

To use SCT for tuning those parameters, you'll need to purchase Advantage 3 or Pro Racer Tuning software along with the hardware and cables required. I don't know much about SCT, but if you do not already have this setup you might as well look into EFI or HPTUNERS. Very easy to remove torque management with HPTUNERS. I've done it myself. Your other option is to have a tuner remove it for you, but that might make your SCT handheld useless afterwards if the tuner doesn't use the SCT tuning software.

Well it seems like ordering a SCT handheld would just be a waste. I'll wait until I get Long Tube Headers installed and head up to Southwest speed, his shop is about 15 minutes away from my house, for a dyno tune. Thanks for the information and opinions I really appreciate it.
