K&N Filter?

Anyone out there put the K&N air filter in? Just wondering if there were any improvements in performance? Most likely going to buy one. Just wanted to know. Thanks

I'll let you know, my K&N just arrived today. Many here say that a CAI will require a tune to have a significant difference in performance. I'd rather spend 50-ish for now and see what happens with the stock setup. Every car I've installed a K&N filter in seemed to like it, and hopefully it will be an improvement.

That would be great. I am sure it will be better than the stock filter. Did you order through a local parts shop or did you go through K&N store? How long does shipping take?

Scrming,
Very good, Let us know your results with the filter when you can.
I can't decide which Air intake System to buy.
So I might just try just the K&N filter for now, but I will wait for your results........
Where did you buy yours ? Prices seem to be all about the same.

Make sure to wipe off the extra oil when you get it. They drench that thing. When I took my G8s air out and put in a CAI there was a puddle of that red oil in the bottom of the stock air box.

I picked it up at the local Autozone - took a day to get it in from their central location. I've only driven it a few miles and it isn't any worse than what's in there - haven't had the chance to get on it and see how much better it is. I certainly won't be doing any track passes like Scrming tho - wish I could

with a filter, you will notice maybe a slight increase in accleration, and 0.somthing in gas mileage Thats about it, no reason to get it especially if you thininking about buying a CAI. KnN should've been all over this by now. Im going with vararam...heard very good things from smart car guys about it.

Holding off on a CAI...

One thing about a K&N is I'm much more likely to maintain it and keep it in tip-top shape than I am a disposable paper filter... LOL
