Broken valve spring and.....

2011 Camaro SS manual. Driving home from MD Yellow Bullet Sunday night, I get to the GW bridge and engine begins to misfire. I had to keep the rpms up to 4000 to prevent stalling until I got across the bridge, traffic was heavy. By the time I get across and over to the breakdown lane the CEL is flashing and stable track. I plugged my scanner in and got codes
P0301= Cylinder 1 misfire,
P0068 =Manifold absolute pressure/Mass airflow sensor,
P0106= Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit Range/Performance Problem.
Called brother who was 30 min behind me with his rig/ race car. We put my Camaro in the rig and drove back to Leominster. Could do nothing Monday because of the holiday, but got in touch with Colonel Chevy in Fitchburg Tues morning. Had the car towed there, heard back the following day Wednesday that an exhaust valve spring had broke, the valve dropped and the piston hit it and broke the valve off. Damage is to the valve, spring, head, and piston. They have those parts on order and don't intend to change anything else.
My concerns are
1- Shouldn't they be changing all the springs?
2- I will be going there today to inspect the damage in person. If I find the piston has a void and allowed exhaust gas and or fuel to get by and into the crankcase I'll be pushing for a new engine.
3- Did the air fuel mixture that got pushed through the exhaust valve damage the cat?
Is there anything else I should be concerned about? They did tell me it was covered by warranty I have 59 k on this car.

No mods, completely stock. I got a call from the shop just after posting this and they told me to come pick up the car it ready. They changed the piston, connecting rod, both intake and exhaust valves, drivers side head, valve spring that broke. I drove it hard coming home the 5-6 miles and it seems not as much power as before. Maybe this spring has been weak for some time and I was loosing compression in the no. 1?

So someone pointed out it is an intake valve not exhaust vale that broke. Now I am concerned.

The thing that would have me worried is the comment line in your receipt.

"....metal debris in the intake manifold and mixed with the motor oil."

If metal debris circulated throughout that motor, I would not be surprised if it grenades on you.

Exactly what I was thinking Andy original concern when they first called and told me the exhaust valve spring broke. I asked him to send a pic of the piston cause if there was a hole in it than all cylinders are contaminated. I was some what put at ease when I saw it was just damaged where it hit but should have realized I was looking at an intake valve damage. That is a whole other matter. There is no mention of even inspecting the other side for metal. I will be getting back to them on Monday to express my dissatisfaction.

I'm not saying you did ,so this is just something to consider. If someone were to run the engine real hard B4 it is warmed up you can break a valve spring . I think I would start inspecting the rest of the engine and cut open your oil filter on the next oil change to see if there is a lot of mtl shavings /chunks.

It can get mighty cold in Boston in the winter. Back in 1980 in my bad habit days I had dinner and a lot of drinks ( drunk as a skunk ) at Joe Tecce's . It was about 25 degrees and the car sat for 4 hours . I hopped in and proceeded to do a burn out ,and broke a valve spring in my 1973 Corvette 383 stroker . Last time I ever did that.
