For clarification, I have aftermarket exhaust, but that's not noise I dislike, it's the tires meeting the road that's annoying to me.

I agree. We travel a lot and going from a Mark VIII to the Camaro was a big drop. Like you said most driving no big deal, but on long trips you have to crank music too much to overpower road noise. The Lincoln had Bose surround and sounded great at any volume. Some road noise is good feedback but a little less would be nice.

Still love the SS more than any car ever for touring though. So far there's no rattles after 66,000 miles and car still feels new.

I'm willing to test the product and provide actual feedback and reviews.

OK, seriously this time...road noise is caused by many things. Among them tires and well, the road. Sometimes performance tires are the wrong choice if luxurious environs are your goal.

These cars are not made by Rolls Royce. They are not intended for picking out each of the dulcet strains of Liszt on your gramophone as you ooze down the street, your chauffeur mildly sneering at the rabble poised around your horseless carriage as you quaff Châteauneuf-du-Pape.

Cars made in the 21st century are by and large quite quiet overall. However I am amazed by a group of people- the folks here at C5 for example- that routinely insist that a Camaro is a "sports car", and yet at the same time think the car is "noisy". 5Gen isn't "noisy". We have been spoiled by lower-priced cars entering the "affordable luxury" market, in which the cars feature lots of sound deadening to justify the manufacturer's insistence that the car is a 'luxury' car. We seem to expect the round-peg Camaro to fit the square-hole niche.

Chris Blair,

Your comments about tires and luxury cars does not hold true, my 2006 F-350 Diesel has 120,000 miles with 36" off road tires has a quieter ride at 70mph than my 2013 Camaro that has 4,000 miles.....I think Chevy overlooked this issue and you people that say it's not noisy have not experienced a car that is quiet....I paid $42,000 for my car, I think GM could do better for the money.

I agree. But for about $100.00 and a couple of hours you can quiet down the inside of your Camaro like I did. I take my SS on long interstate trips and got tired of the road noise. GM has built about 1/2 a million of these now- By GM not adding $10.00 of material to
each car for something most Camaro buyers don't care about- Well you do the math.

This

The LG Superpro LT headers and 3" LG exhaust exit out of 2.5" inlet GHL mufflers that are supposed to be no drone. I might change that out to LG 3" mufflers. It may lower the note of the mild drone which would be more tolerable.
