I am in the DC area and ordered at Oursiman Chevy in Rockville. I spoke tohim today and I think they still may have an allocation. Talk to Bill Shenberger and tell him Jean Pierre sent you.

The only thing is they would not honor my Credit Union discount but did sell at MSRP.

Oh yeah, you can order from wherever the heck you'd like. That's the game I'm playing now (Whoever can come up with the gold 1st). Only thing is you'll probably have to pay the taxes up front at your states DMV when you register it :(

Let me give you a word of CAUTION on Drop ships....

The "drop ship" delivery is only as good as the receiving dealer....If they weren't easy to work with to get you a car, don't expect much fun with them delivering a drop shipment. Also, if there are ANY issues with the delivery - damage etc....You now have two dealerships that have to work things out.

A dealer that agree'd to terms before my customers Camaro arrived "way up north" tried to tell my customer they had a $1000 fee that needed to be paid to them before delivery. How do you think that added to the excitment of waiting so long for a camaro?

I HIGHLY recommend that if you buy out of state with a great dealer, go get your car, or have it trucked to you from that dealer. it will be a much better experience!

Coming Soon (I hope)...

Well just had an interesting call with my dealer. Seems that they are getting 8 built this month and 8 allocations the following (I'm 14 in line now, so that would include me ). But since controlled allocation is over they may have a chance to bump up to 16 allocations this month, meaning I could see mine even sooner. But in the standard scenario he said even with what they have now, mine should be getting delivered by late October, latest (barring any GM holding).

Hmmm... Oddly placed call though. I just posted yesterday and get a easy solution from my dealer today Hmmm... Someone is paying close attention to Camaro5.

Anyhoo... I think I'm probably going to still keep doing a lil research for a backup. This guys been straight up with me from the jump, but it's this year or 2011 for me, I've only seen one on the road out here so far and it was a rental. This whole trip makes me fell like I'm in "Harold & Kumar go to the Chevy Dealer" . But it'll only feel like a partial victory if I see as many Camaro's as I see those Stangs on the road by time I get mine.

I am working with Anna from Sparta Chevy on placing an order for a new 2SS.

I am going to have the car transported to me once they receive it.

As I provided to her, Intercity Lines is one of the most professional transport companies that I have ever dealt with. They only have 100% enclosed "rolling garages" to get your car to you exactly as it was when it rolled onto thier carrier.

Not only do they offer the best service, but thier prices are amazing. They can transport from coast to coast for $1499.00 fully enclosed. I used them from a coast to coast move on a very expensive restored Camaro and it arrived in 7 days with not even a spec of dust on it. They quoted me only $850 to transport from Michigan to NY fully enclosed and insured.

If you need thier services call and ask for Jeff. They can be reached at www.intercitylines.com. This will really ease your worries if you are buying from out of state.

BTW - they are also the endorsed carrier for Barrett Jackson.

So I've heard that controlled allocation means they've changed the terms of what constituted them for their original allocation. So for example rather than whatever the original formula was (I've heard it was based on some mix of Vette's and Stangs sold in a dealer's district) they now base it on the number of Camaro orders in the dealer's location, which I'm pretty happy with.

Anyone else heard something like this?

I hope that they're increasing the allocations to dealers. I ordered a 2SS/RS IOM on 08/07 and I'm still at 1100. I ordered from Diver Chevrolet in DE. I spoke to Steve Chizik who's the sales manager and he said that "hopefully" GM should pick up my order by mid September. I have an 06 tahoe Z71 that needs to be traded on 11/04 and would love to receive my camaro no later than that. He is giving me the camaro at $250 under invoice due to USAA agreement with them. Because of this deal I stood with Diver Chevy and hope that it's not going to be too long before I get my baby...!!! Hope that I don't turn out to be one of these guys that are in code 1100 for months on end, just because I want to get this deal. By the way, Steve Chizik has been a very helpful and friendly guy.

It wont be long, they are really moving these order through now. I was at 1100 for 5 wks, then last Thursday the 27th my allocation came up and I was at 3000 on tuesday, only four (buisness) days. So it might even get picked up sooner.
