My buddy has a drop top so I asked him why the hell he drives it down in the cold and apparently the way the wind moves inside the cabin causes a heat bubble where the driver sits.

In Texas, the sun is just way to intense "most" of the time to keep the top down. That said, I put the top down maybe 30% of the time I drive her... but then again, I've only put a few hundred miles on mine in the 4+ months I've owned it. It doesn't get out of the garage much, with little driving to do and 8 cars to pick from. Most daily errands end up getting done in one of the truck/SUV's. I remember telling the dealer when I bought it that I might rack up 5000 miles over the next ten years with it.
When we bought ours in Feb, I told the insurance company that we'd likely put 2000 miles or so a year on the car since it was purely a pleasure vehicle. I've had to call them back and raise that estimate twice now, we're headed toward 5000 in the last 7 months. I never imagined we'd drive it this much, especially while our daughter was still so young (10 months) but she loves it, the wife loves it, so we take it out a couple times a week and just drive.

There was a 6 week or so stretch when it was too hot in the middle of the day for it, so we'd do midnight cruises or just leave it at home. And it wont get driven through the winter obviously. I figure if the weather isn't suitable for top down, then we might as well just take another vehicle.

Heated seats are great during Wyoming winters! Too bad I have to chain up to get anywhere if it snows more than 2 inches. Just kidding my baby stays in the garage where it is warm and dry. Top down as much as possible. I would have like to have seen cooled A/C Seating

yeah, cooled seats and back seat HVAC would have been nice. On the hot days the AC does a decent job of keeping the front seat passengers comfortable but our daughter in the back gets none of it.

Went to Sturgis Camaro Rally this year. Rainy - Hot - more rain - and some wind. 2.5 yr old grand daughter does not like the top down :( Maybe she will appreciate when she gets older. I thought cowboys were out west not in the mid-west?

I hear that about a lot of kids, hoping since we started ours young (3 months) that she'll continue to enjoy it as she gets older.

We raise a lot of cattle here in southern IL, both beef and dairy. We had up to 100 head or so of black angus on our 120 acres growing up. Parents sold off the cows and retired, and I became a trucker... screen name is my cb handle

Ain't trucking great! Been in the business for 30+ years...darn it. I guess diesel fuel gets in your blood. I don't get to drive much anymore. Work in an office and get to tell others where to go and how to get there. The vert is my way of blowing off some steam and relieving some stress from the day. I live on the edge of the Black Hills of SD and find some curvy roads to drive... top down of course. Around 75 to 85 degrees and 45 to 55 mph is perfect, sometimes more when I mash on the peddle.

Side note: it was just beautiful this morning for my trip down to Cars & Coffee, I was just enjoying the crap out of it!

I had a rental 5.0 Convertible while in Vegas when it was 110-116 and I made it half way to Grand Canyon and turned around because it was so damn hot. That was top up and AC blasting. LOL.

I do notice a lot of the Mercedes/bmw drivers with their top down more than others. I rarely see Camaro's with their top down here but then again you don't see too many convertible Camaro's driving around. I typically drive top down when it's later in the evening or if I know there won't be stop an go traffic. Going to and from work, the top is up. I'm too lazy to F with the cover on the short trips and hate not having it on when it's down. Also, Like others have mentioned, the TX sun is a b*tch sometimes.
