Long Tube Headers, x pipe, and catless system

I thought I would share with you all my current build, to turn this dream car into a complete monster. I thought it was lacking a little punch, so I decided to "open" the breathing of the car. what do you think?

  • Ported heads
  • Long tube stainless headers
  • x pipe w/ cat less system (I think I am gonna keep stock mufflers)
  • Comp Cam Double valve springs, Viton valve seals, Chromoly push rods, light weight titanium retainers
  • custom billet catch can
  • Comp Billet Cams
  • 160 degree T stat
  • Comp Cams roller rocker trunion kit
  • NGK plugs
  • Fast 102 intake
  • Fast fuel rails
  • Nick Williams Throttle body
  • Comp Cams billet belt tensioner
Any thoughts? I wanted to keep it NA for the track but really get the most of of the motor without using forced induction. One thing that surprised me was the Dyno pulled 466 whp (536hp crank), which either indicates very little drive train loss, or being that they are hand built, that some motors will be a little more powerful than others. Anyways, I believe we should be in the 570 whp (650hp crank) area when finished with great track capabilities. I will post pics once I pick it up on Monday, along with new numbers from the Dyno.

I'm fully aroused and pitching a huge tent after looking at the pictures.

What brand exhaust/headers? Are you eliminating the O2 sensors? And either way, how exactly are you going to deal with different signal and prevent a CEL?

Should be awesome, looking forward to hearing about the results. Post an audio of the idle too.

The OE cats are 600CPSI, so massively restrictive, just removing those alone probably will add 30 HP.

No videos op!!!

Damn would have killed for a dyno vid and hear that car roar! All you need are cams and you have my dream camaro. Either way nice build up, cant wait to see it on the track or strip pulling bad ass times and beating other cars!

I do have cams, Comp cams being put on, and as soon, as I receive the new Dyno video after the tuning, I will post it. I plan on tracking it very often, we have a great track here in south florida.

Wow...there's a LOT of fuel in the stock tune huh? Seems you'd find more power NA by just not running it at 11.0:1.

That is running very rich for NA. My boosted cars run leaner than that :P. Is that dyno plot the Z28 running stock?

Don't know your cam specs but with a mild cam I'm guessing 520-550rwhp. Run a cam with some big numbers and your in the 560-590 range. The NW throttle body is not going to help much with HP (maybe +5) but it's going to greatly improve drivability.

My speed shop did not give out that info on the cam, but it is very aggressive, just got the car back last night and the dyno consistently pulled 575-580 rwhp, 665 hp to the crank. Very, very happy with the outcome, it is a BEAST!!!!
