My uncle said, instead of snow tires, I should use chains.

He used to be from around here, but lives in Texas now. Drives a yellow Boxster, by the way.

I wouldn't use chains, snow tires are fine unless going up a 10%grade haha!

Chains on a Camaro? I guess maybe if it was REALLY bad and you had the black steelies. But chains are hard on tires and wheels!

Read the manual.

GM specifies NOT to use chains on the Camaro....

Aside from concerns about damage, I couldnt understand how that'd have helped me last winter, when I'd drive to work with clear skies, and come out to 6 inches.

He kept pushing the idea, so I told him they are illegal in NJ (no idea).

They are illegal in most states, and GM says right in the owner's manual NOT to use chains.
