Supercharger 101 question

im doing my homework on the Whipple supercharger kit and looking into buying one in the near future what supporting mods will i need for adding a supercharger im not trying to go crazy and get 1,000 hp just yet i want to get all my supporting mods done before i get into that territory im also shopping around looking at different brands of superchargers if anyone can point me in the right direction of a good brand that would be appreciated too thanks in advance

What is your end goal? Fuel is the most important. Injectors and fuel pump would be the first 2 I'd look at. What supporting mods are you looking at. Headers and intake should also be done at time of blower. Also, if you plan on tracking it the drivetrain will need some attention. Whipple is a good supercharger but if your end goal is to have 1000 hp the whipple is probably not the best option.

Your going to have to search man....The supporting mods will be based on you and how much you want to get out of your car. Some mods will not be necessary if your not going to upgrade beyond the kit your installing.

Some supporting mods are Axles, clutch, fuel, and suspension, just to name a few. My input to you is that you need to be able to tell others what you plan on doing with the car, and how much power you plan on running. If you know that then others will be able to answer that question much easier for you. To just say "im not going to make 1000+hp" does not really say much to be honest. To some of us that means your planning on running around 850 at the wheels lol....I think you get my point.

If you're looking to just utilize what the kit comes with, then the list is short. Headers are always a good choice. You'll want to upgrade some drivetrain parts. Axles are usually the first to go. Trailing rods and toe arms also. With fuel, it's simple, Premium from now on. To help out more, we need to know what your goals are.

i dont know much about internal engine parts but i do know a little bit of the basic things like im going to need upgraded pistons. i already plan on getting headers and upgrade the fuel pump im shooting for about 700 to 800. my camaro is daily driven L99 and i dont take it to the track that often maybe once a month. i already have a SLP CAI. i just want to avoid just putting the supercharger on and messing up my stock internals because of all the extra power

These cars can live at 700 Hp (stock internals)if the tune is good. Going forged is never a bad thing.

When mine was installed I dyno at 506 to the wheels. That was with headers and intake.

I'd think you'd be close to 700 with whipple, cam, headers and intake. That also includes the injectors, fuel pump and smaller pulleys your going to need. Might even think about doing a 8 rib

cool superchargers arent as overwhelming as i thought i was reading other peoples supercharger builds and i thought i was trying to read spanish lol so your saying on an ideal build if i go whipple cam headers and intake i can maybe get 700? i would be satisfied being in the 700 to 800 range since i drive mine every day as in daily driven

700-800 is pushing it for a L99 and whipple. 650-700 should be your goal. The manuals can do 700-800. Remember, all dyno's are read differently and you get a varied number from across the country.Don't get caught up in it. If your set on the 700-800 number then I'd be looking into the centri or turbo's. Turbo would do it easy if your just looking for a number

Internals will be fine. Just pick a good tuner. Do your homework on who you choose. I can't emphasis that enough. A lousy tuner can also blow a forged motor.

He cant stress the good tuner part enough.....take your time and do some research. There are more than a few good ones out there, it only takes one sh!ty one to blow your car up.
