Collinite 845 for Winter is Here!

I got the Collinite 845 Insulator Wax in, I am using it for winter protection soon. looks like serious stuff!

I read it's best to warm it before use so it's more applicable, seems right.

Can't say how much help and advice by the man CamaroDreams07 has helped me out, really a great resource here at the forum.

I like to put it in a bowl of hot water and let it get warm.

Appreciate the kind words.

The bowl of hot water works great to make it easier to apply.

I have it and the collinite 476s, both are really good for winter, 476 is a little harder to get off but not terribly. will throw a coat on sometime in the next month and do all the usual things. Ugh, wish I would win the lottery so I could move south and drive my baby all year long!!

The 845 I leave in the sun for a few minutes, doesn't take long, can also take a microfiber and warm it up in the cloths drier for a few minutes and rap it around the bottle, two or three minutes later your ready to rock, it will go to liquid pretty fast

The south isn't all it's chocked up to be. Our summers are like your winters. The rain is unrelenting, and if you care about having a freshly detailed car always look nice, see what a 5 minute torrential downpour followed by intense direct sunlight will do to your paint.

Maybe in Florida. But I'll take Texas weather over Michigan any day for car care.

Get a dispenser bottle that has a self cleaning tip. I use that to apply 845 and I put four penny sized drops on a black pad when using a griots garage da buffer. Works perfectly and I have so much left after applying it three times. As others have said apply it super thin. A little goes a loooooong way.

This is what I use:

go without driving yours for a 3.5 months and you will wish you could drive it year round, it ain't easy but it is a sacrifice I make to keep it looking nice. salt and gravel chips from winter road "Care" in these parts will kill the paint of a nice car!
