I'm hoping your kidding and don't seriously think you are being stupid for thinking this... in fact I (and many others) agree with you. When people think of "Muscle Cars" they think back to the late 60's / 70 era. Some of the V8's back then pushed out similar HP numbers to the modern day V6 Camaro, and thats a fact. Is the modern day V8 faster? Hell yes! The current stock V6 Camaro may not be a super fast car by todays standards, but it still has pretty respectable power, and decent MPG too. You have no reason to apologize to an internet forum warrior / SS elitist.

When word of the 5th Gen was coming out, I was just as giddy when the 1st Gen F-body debuted. I guess I'm the odd duck when it comes to old school.

My daughter yesterday told me that some boy asked her "why does your dad drop you off in a Camaro" and she replied "Because that's what he drives" the boy replied "well my dad said its not even a SS" my daughter replied "Yeah I should have him drop me off in a van like your dad" kid stayed silent.

Vintage cars that are in good/great condition have a ton of "sweat equity" in them. New cars are far more complex; your toolbox needs a lot more these days than a couple of screwdrivers and a 9/16" wrench. Simplicity does have its appeal. New cars are . . . still the new kids on the block (sorry for any possible image) . . . and metric dimensions just don't have the same "ring". Norm |

Well it's a good thing they don't have too! I personally try not to insult anything another person drives. Especially if they are an enthusiast. Sure I prefer certain makes and models over others but i don't have the right to disrespect another persons ride. To me someone that does isn't a true enthusiast.
