really think about trading up. advice?
so now that the 6th gens are coming out next year I really started to think I should trade up to an ss, but now that I think they are gonna be pretty expensive when they first come out. a better idea is try to get a 2015 SS when the new Camaros come out because they are gonna try to get rid of them and they will be cheaper I hope... also the first new generation of cars always seems to have problems. also ill still probably get killed on insurance and it gonna go up since im 22. so what do u guys think good idea should I do it?

In the same position, I'll just wait for the price to be revealed on a 6th gen SS.. and also would most likely wait a year til the first release to get the car.
The only thing that sucks is, its so hard to not do any mods on the Camaro I have now =/ If I were you I would drive cautiously to avoid tickets to keep your insurance good and also start saving up money.. if you dont like the 6th then a 2015 sounds good.

The SS is so much fun, when I was looking for Camaros last month I was in the same boat. I looked at the 2014 V6 cause I wanted new and the SS was out of my price range but it just didn't feel right. I got a call from a friend saying look at this 2011 SS so I did and once I saw it I knew it was mine. Like others said wait to see what the 2016 prices will be and if they are to high for you then look at the 2015 or even the 2014 SS versions. Either way you will enjoy it, just need to find the right car the attracts you.
As far as insurance it won't go up much since you have a clean record. Our insurance is cheap compared to other high performance cars. |

I'd figure out what my finances were going to look like first.
Then, I'd get the details on the 6th gen, decide if I was going to buy a 6th gen, or swoop in on one of the remaining 2015 SS'. Chances are, a lot of people will be doing that (it happens with every generation change of a vehicle with a LARGE enthusiast community), so you'll need to make a quick decision once inventory starts dwindling. |

I'm impatient and can't wait for the 16s. There really is no difference between the 14 and 15 so I just got my 14 SS today. I know I won't regret it.

How much more is gas on the V8 compared to the V6, for daily driving?

BUT, if you're into modding and maybe track day every once in a while, then a V8 is the way to go. The V6 is ideal for daily drivers like myself who don't make/have a ton of money. I'll put over 20k on the car in its first year (at 13k now in month 7). Saved a decent chunk of money on gas over that year's time intead of getting the V8 (not even factoring in the higher sticker price for the V8). Last edited by stoopid; 10-11-2014 at 07:16 AM. |

Agree with this guy, traded in my 2012 ls for a 2011 2ss/rs. Only regret... not getting the SS first

Enjoy what you have, don't worry about what's not out yet. One prices are available, then start pondering the options.

No matter what, the V8 is piggier (just is). If someone has a V8, I sure hope they're not driving it lightly. Otherwise, what's the point? Add foot mash into the factor. ![]() Quote:
