Are you guys standing on the brake to spin the rears cause I can do that in my Acura tl, thought this would be something different that's all. And yes expectations nearly always lead to disappointment. Well keep playing and update later.

And that's I posed the question starting this thread, all the reviews seemed overwhelmingly positive.

I am not standing on the brakes to spin the rears. You should not need to do that to spin the tires unless you have really good traction with your tires. Even before this I could spin the tires easily. Now I can spin in first and get a nice squeal when I go to second if I want. I do have a manual transmission. Maybe that is why some of us are seeing it and not others.

My point is that Giovando said he's not feeling what others are reporting. It sounds like something is wrong with his unit or something. This is a very very obvious difference in feel.

with the stock tires I could let the tail end slide (with TC on) and now with the supercars if it does slide it's very minimal and easy to control.

Now to put away for a extendolator and ported intake manifold. Need to see how they compliment the system.

Something else that bothered me was that there was no discernible change in 1/4 mile times for those that have used it...
Yes, it doesn't increase horsepower. Insert that statement infinite times. However, a car that runs a faster 0-60 will have a lead and thus trap sooner than a car that has a slower 0-60, equal power and traction and such. And if you don't trap faster... what's happening? Obviously I mean on average. Also not saying a massive gain, but correcting all times for DA should show at least a few tenths gain on average, right? Especially with Vitesse's own statement of "A more responsive 400hp engine will outrun (other than top speed) a less responsive yet more powerful 450hp engine on the track assuming driver skills and vehicle suspension tire adhesion etcetera being equal in the same car every time." Just waiting for a larger sample size, honestly. I kinda want one.

I said on the Track ! Not Drag Racing.
A more responsive 400hp engine will outrun (other than top speed) a less responsive yet more powerful 450hp engine on the track assuming driver skills and vehicle suspension tire adhesion etcetera being equal in the same car every time Because on the Track, you're not always at WOT ! |

Do the same thing after you push the B button just once to go back to SP0 ( Stock ). Do you notice that the car responds faster on the SP9 ? You have a V6 LFX. It takes about 100 miles for your engine to learn the new device. You're in Palm city, FL, (warm weather). Not as easy to spin tires even with your bolt-ons mentioned above. |
