The chips in the gill area come from the front tires slinging rocks rearward. I agree with John, not sure how rocks would get thrown forward.

Seriously, stand over one of the rear tires and look down and tell me how a rock thrown off the rear tire can chip between the door and said rear tire. It can't. That's why guys install the front rock guards. My car has a couple of little chips, but I can't imagine how many might be there if I didn't have the rock guards installed. |

Rock guards now in stock for the ZL1

The JFK magic bullet comes to mind... Maybe they are coming off the the rear of tire shooting up and away from the car, but they have spin in the right direction like a curveball. They are rainbowing forward and back towards the car and fall back down just in time for the car to hit them with the gills. Why some down hit the trunk, top of the car or the windows is likely an aerodynamic phenomenon. |

Just ordered... My new Michelin Pilot Super Sports I had installed this week are a bit wider than the stock Goodyears, and at this price these guards are inexpensive protection for the gills!

Got mine yesterday, waiting until Tuesday when it is supposed to be 70 deg. to install them. They look good as far as finish goes.
