I agree that a floor shifter is probably un-necessary, but I love the way they look so I don't hate it at all lol.

Center console area was always the most valuable real estate in the interior in every discussion I was ever in. It is why they justified maintaining a column shifter on the FS SUVs which still have a column shifter.

Of course if you look at the new Escalade, that real estate gets you a really cool covered cup holder. Nice!

First the complaints rolled in about no console shifter in the Silverado. So they put one in the Colorado (which looks great) and now complaints about that. Looks like when pulled back to drive it wouldn't even be close to anyone's knee anyway. Good job Chevy on the shifter.

Yes it "looks great" just not functional in a small truck. In a larger Silverado there is more room to get away with it. Throw it in cruise control and lift your right leg and even in drive it's going to cut down on room. I sat in it... I adjusted the seat etc. and it does get in the way. I will say for a tall person the seat will go way back.

Doubt I'll wait that long... seems like everything produced so far is 4 door crew cab. Waiting on some ext cabs to hit the lots around here.

I figure they would still be making crew cabs for a little bit.

I thought extended cabs were supposed to go into production late or after this month? Could be wrong about that. Even if true, that still means a god 4 - 6 weeks before you see one on a dealer lot.

In other news...the lift kits are starting to get made for this truck:
