Mishimoto Oil Cooler Request

This past spring I purchased a universal oil cooler kit from Mishimoto. To make a long story short it didn't fit. I Recently wrote to the company about my issue and I told them that they should consider making a direct fit Oil Cooler Kit because of the number of people that would consider buying this because of the large amount of people who track their car and all say how the factory oil cooler doesn't cool the oil fast enough. I also told him that there aren't many companies that make oil coolers specifically for our cars. I received an email back from them within a day and they said if I can get a list of people that would be interested in this oil cooler kit and the demand is out there they may design a kit that would fit our cars in the near future. So if you are not familiar with Mishimoto products go to their website www.mishimoto.com to check out their products. If anyone is interested in trying to get this ball rolling please post up in this thread.

Thanks

If this will fit a V6 also then I'm in as well.

I'm interested for my ZL1 and I do track it. Mishimoto will have to come up with different cooling kits for different Camaros. The radiators are different for the SS, ZL1 and Z28, so the stock factory oil cooler routing is probably different as well.

You were expecting a universal part to be direct fit? Everyone with an aftermarket oil cooler is using universal coolers.

The problem was the sandwich plate and adapter not fitting. It wasn't the oil cooler itself.

Are you trying to keep the stock cooler/heater? Just get the improved racing thermostat adapter and you're done. Haven't noticed any appreciable difference in warmup time without it.

If you are talking about the oil temp and you haven't added your own oil temp sensor somewhere you won't see a difference. Our oil temp isn't actually the "real" temp. It's just an estimate based off of a few factors.

im curious as i have read that a few times as well. is there a way to add that temp sensor and wire it in to the OE oil temp gauge so it reads actual temp?

I would have interest.

The factory oil cooler is a POS and mine cracked when drag racing. My replacement one (under warranty) is LEAKING.

I wish I knew. I wonder if any shops can chime in with experience on this.

I would probably be interested.
Does this increase the oil capacity beyond the standard 8 quarts?
Does anyone have a basic SWAG on the install time?
