Same thing happened on my spoiler. It is etched... A nice big one inch splatter etched into my clear coat.

I got a 4oz spray bottle at the container store. I filled it with detail spray and placed it and a few microfiber towels in a Ziploc bag in the trunk for these.

I use some detail spray. Once it's wet, it will come right off non abrasively.

If it has been there long enough to form acircle of where it fell use a good polish like Zymol.

A couple hours in the sun, and it's going to be etched in. I've had several bad ones that sat out in the sun all day while at work and didn't notice them till the end of the day.

Portable Cable buffer and some various Adams products got it back to perfect. But once it's etched in, it's going to take a machine and knowing which pads and compounds to use.

I had several paint professionals look at mine and was so sure it needed at least wet sanding and compounding. A PC got it perfectly. I think I used the orange then white. A swirl mark remover, then fine machine polish. Then a hand wax.

So if you do get bird crap etched in....find someone that knows how to use a random orbital buffer like a Porter Cable.

Use Rain-X windshield fluid to remove it.
Drench a soft paper towel with the fluid and soak it over the affect area.
Then in a circular motion, lightly rub it off.
Do not apply force, just do this multiple times and it'll get rinse off.

Pre- emptive prep: Always keep your car well waxed. Makes removal much easier.

Indeed, it WILL etch the paint: Had that happen to my liquid black '82 Camaro. And as BloodiedWraith mentioned, the berry flavored bombs will indeed stain a lighter colored car.

I must re-evaluate priorities in life. I just realized I'm an expert in the field of bird poop.

pelican vomit is a lot harder to remove. You need to be careful that the fish bones don't scratch the paint.
