The earliest HWSE convertible build number I found is mine at #165, the last was #1502 which is pretty close to the end of the run at #1524. Maybe the last vert? The Indy festival cars seem to be between from somewhere around #165 and #318. The VINs of the Indy cars are not sequential and the variances between VINs is not consistent ranging from as low as 2 apart to as far as 70 apart in my sample data which is from cars that were for sale on the internet in the last year or so.

Seems unlikely mine is the first one built, would sure like to hear from anyone with an earlier HWSE convertible build number!

Well I picked up the car from the dealer and received a copy of the title and the only owner of mine was GM motors l.l.c. of Warren michigan and they had it until 15k miles

Car has aprox 16k on it now

I wonder if mine was a demo car or an indy car that they took the stickers off of???

Does anyone have access to the indy vin numbers or can look them up?

It seems the certification link listed earlier in this thread is broken or maybe I have the wrong one idk

If anyone has a good link or someone who knows the indy vin numbers that may be beneficial in my research.

Have you asked the dealer if your car was a demo or what is was used for if GM was listed as orig owner. it might have been used as a show car . I tried the link also it goes to a different GM site . I am not sure why they would delete the site for the certificates. The Canadian show car (coupe) was number 12 . Congrats on your convertible .

I'm 99% sure you have a Festival car. Send a PM to Lee93 on this link, lots of photos and he might be able to help you out:

Here's a picture of your car (somewhere in there):

I did ask the dealer when I purchased. They had no clue as they got it from an auction. when the link worked it, I did check it and it said #230 of 15k whatever.

I will hit Lee up and see if he has any information. This car does not have the indy logos on it though. they may have been removed for auction idk the owners manual and the floor mats where also missing. Did the indy version have anything different besides the stickers? Or any tell tale signs I can look for?

I might be wrong but in the past there was a gentleman who kept track of everything related to the pace cars example vin numbers etc . now touching on the certificates as a Canadian I spent lots of time contacting GM on it , they finally included us . I some people in mexico and Europe have not had any luck with their certificates . probably due to the link not working . Maybe the guys at Gm will see this and comment why it's not working .

All the engine covers for the HWSE don't have any blue on them, just carbon flash black where it says Chevrolet over the fuel rails.

I feel like this is automotive archeology....

Talked to dealer today. Said they bought 10 convertibles from gm auction...no further info

Talked to gm. No definite answer on the link for the certificates. If I find out I will post here

Also I spoke with lee. The car is NOT one of the Indy versions. He mentioned to check the gps and maybe get an idea of where it was used.

GPS last entry's where around michigan (Detroit, Richland, Beverly hills in michigan Also was at cedar point in Sandusky Ohio and 2 addresses in Florida one outside Pensacola at a hotel and one about 20 miles from Daytona. I am still not sure. Lee did mention they did have a few cars they demo'd for the nascar nationwide series but idk kinda a long shot

Also build sheet did stated rpo vyx body color painted engine cover dealer install. That's why I mentioned the engine cover.

Still digging for info. Gm customer care was kind of a battle but hopefully they can come up with some answers for my car and the certificate....
