I know you said the first parts the dealership received were defective. Did they ever get the new parts in and did you ever get them installed and the problem fixed?

I have been dealing with this issue on my top too. Dealer said they are ordering new rubber gaskets. To see if they can figure this out. They cannot find a reference to this issue. Does anyone have a TSB number that can be referenced? I want to make sure that my top is repaired correctly.

Nope. They never called. It's their job to call me. I called them last time. Mine goes into storage next week. It's really nice here now so they can just forget it.

Interesting. Which dealer were you at? Webb Chevy, or Bill Jacobs? (Assuming Plainfield/Joliet area?)

Had ours into Chevy Naperville, and this was one of the issues to be remedied. They contract out their convertible tops to a specialist. When I got the car back, they had adjusted the top and now those tabs don't stick out. Still have other top issue (rub mark from rear deck) that I still need to re-address with them, so not done yet.

I go to Bill Jacobs as I'm in Joliet. I bought it brand new from there. My friend has since left them and I have noticed that the place has completely changed (for the worse). Mine is in storage now so they can do what they want with the parts. I'm not going back. I don't really have any other issues with my top (knock on wood) but it's more of a garage queen than anything. My warranty will be up at the end of May.

Curious what your build month is. I'd inspect the top over the driver's head, thats where I found marks on a couple of convertibles at our meet this weekend...

I believe it is 8/11. I'll have to double check. The only wear marks I ever see is if I leave the top down for a period of time. When driving in the Summer, I leave it down in the garage and just throw an old flannel sheet over it to keep the dust out. When I wash it the marks go away. I'm 50/50 with the tonneau cover. I'm hoping I'm the 1% that got a top with no issues!!

The date is 8/11. Here is a picture of my top. The marks are only visible in the picture. Are these what your talking about? Sorry for the dirty car. The white spots are just fuzzes - not marks on the top.

I the spot to watch is roughly in this area:

(looks like if yours has any wear, it would be like ours where it's kind of a shiny spot, where the top most fibers have worn away, but there's no fraying yet.)

happens due to rubbing like this:

Troubling part is that I haven't seen a TSB for this specific wear mark, but the revised top that includes the new tension cables/cords resolves the issue.

Actually, mine folds down perfectly. I've never seen it buckle out like that. I will definitely keep an eye on it. The marks I have on mine would come out if I washed it.

Hmmm. Interesting. Did you pick yours up new or used? Wonder if dealer replaced top with the revised one with tension cords.

Bought it brand new I was going to buy a ZL1 but they wanted an additional $8,000.00 from me before it even came out. I held off and I'm glad I did. Guess I'm just getting lucky with mine!!

Here's mine folded down. The spot that is closest to the trim is actually lower than the trim and does not rub on anything.
