Rear licence plate mounting
Ok who did this? http://sandyblogs.com/techlink/?p=2258
I've had my Z/28 since July and haven't mounted my rear tag. I hate the the way it mounts. Does anyone know of a better way of mounting without screwing holes in the fascia? Maybe a bracket that will mount through the square holes that are already there?

One could make a bracket to be sure.
Mine was already screwed on by the dealer, which is ok. That's the way it was meant to be, original. My feelings anyhow. |

C'mon Man, just mount the dang thing! Now I would totally be trying to think of a smart solution to the front license plate. Matter of fact, I need to quite letting that front plate mount float around in the back seat and give it a proper burial.

Doesn't make any since why GM didn't press the damn squares for the tag. Srew holes in your bumper! Really?

It's got bosses there for the screws. Take your finger and insert into the open square, now feel behind where the screws are supposed to go....what do you feel?
I would be just as upset too if it were like either of my Hondas, screwed into the plastic without any support for the screw. So after 2 or 3 removals the hole will be worn out. Not having the squares is a departure from what we are used to, but there is plenty of material to support the screw for many future uses. How many times do you plan to remove your plate? I'll just make a bracket out of aluminum and mount it to the pressed square holes and mount the tag that way.
