The difference between a SS & Z28?

Might as well ask why buy a SS over an LT since the 2LT can top out at 150 mph.

Well, if you're not tracking the car - go with the ZL1 at less cost than the Z28...and more power.

Is that for the 2014+ with a sunroof? I know the 2010-2013 are under 3900

Yeah... that's pretty ridiculous. If I was a track racer with lots of playing around money, I'd go for the Z28 without hesitation. But I'm not either of those things and, IMHO, anyone who buys a Z28 to drive regularly on the street only is just screaming "Hey, look at me, I have a $75k sports car". That's fine for them, but I think it is pure ego at work.

And who would drive around in a $75k car with a AM/FM radio with one speaker and no A/C? That's just nuts. I know, you can option them to suit, but then you take a little away from the track performance.

My SS is all the car (and more) than I need. I love it!

Why not buy a Corvette instead? Good question, and I believe the answer lies strictly in personal taste. I would love either, and if I hit it big, I'd have both in heartbeat.

Don't forget to deduct the price from the same parts that comes in the SS , before you add the LS7 , etc

Really too many differences to list. It's safe to say they are truly different cars. Much more exotic content in the Z/28, compared to the SS. Also, the Z/28 is a purpose focused car and that purpose is the track.

Here's how I look at it:

If 25%+ track vs. street, a Z/28 makes sense.
If 5%+ track vs. street, a 1LE makes sense.
If primarily street, ZL1 hands down, SS+mods if budget constrained or NA committed.

You buy a car based on how you intend to use it, right? That's why I bought a vert.

I was kinda thinking this myself OP however I saw my first z/28 today in person at a dealer.... The presence the z/28 has and the attention it commands is just incredible.
