Camaro is going to be just fine with sales and this time next year we will be going thru the same sale spurt that the mustang is enjoying due to clearance on the 5th gen and deliveries of the new 6th gen on the same lot for a few months. I'm not worried one bit.

I'm not surprised the Stang did so well. People getting them before all you can buy is the Fusionstang.

Normal market reaction to new product. No reason to panic. As Fbodfather said, what is NOT normal has been the Camaro selling more units in each successive year of Gen5, including 2014 for all those who think that killed the excitement. Give Ford credit. They did a nice job with the new Mustang and the market will reward them for a time.

We will see some uncamouflaged Gen6 Camaros very soon as GM attempts to get muscle car buyers to sit on their cash for another 8-10 months.

100% agree!

On a side note not shocked at all that the Mustang had such a strong month, no doubt it it will sell strongly for a bit of time.
Uhhhhh People don't. Lol.... Why do you think this is 15 mustang sells doing?

- The 2014 Camaro redesign that the only thing it had going for it was "freshness" (that is now mostly worn off)
- The 6th Gen coming down the pike
- The 5th Gen simply being in its 6th model year

With all that piling up, there isn't much driving a push people to buy what consistent strong sales have turned into the "me too" sports car. The thing the Camaro had always going for it is that "everyone had a Mustang." It was unique. Now, everyone has a Camaro. It is just the most boring car out of the three listed, so sales probably won't be stellar in 2015. Its future success will hinge on Chevrolet's redesign of the 6th gen...which could either rekindle the love or totally botch. Time will tell.
Everyone still wants a Camaro too but I have said millions of times that I would pick the challenger or 13-14 mustang over the 14-15 Camaro's. Unless it's a 1LE or Z/28! So of course the tweaked challenger and new mustang has a bigger interest for now! Ppl still take pictures of my car and want to talk about how killer it looks , so them being every where is not the problem! And most boring out of the 3 ? I guess to you ! But the mustang isn't a hit or cause a pause and the new challenger taillights isn't much nor is the hood! But I'm happy that they are selling more because GM will make sure the 6th Gen is a killer looking car before they release it! Just remember both cars are having a huge sale and discounts on the out going ones!

It's just one month, I bet once the new luster wears off of the new car the margin of difference will be pretty small.

Looks like perfect timing for next generation Camaro to debut at Detroit next month.

this..and camaro sales declining(no firesales around here, pricey if anything). New look getting boring(normal cycle). Expect challenger sales to steadily increase. Camaro sales peaked, and now will slowly decline. Don't expect the new design to dig it out of its rut.

Looks as though the Camaro will maintain a 5th straight year of sales dominance, despite being the oldest in the segment. Next year is setting up to be the tipping point for the Mustang. If it can't outsell the Camaro in 2015, it will firmly be relegated to 2nd place for another 5 year cycle.

I'm on the market for a convertible. So far, I am reading as much as I can to make an educated choice. The more I read about the stangs, the less I want one (wheel hop, hood paint issues, piss poor customer service)
I am 75% on the Camaro, however, being here for a few days and learning about the 6th gen, now I am inclined to wait. Yea, the deals are great now on the '14s, but I still want to see the new one.
I am not for the V8, I like power, dont get me wrong, but I also like money in my pocket. I drive about 35.000miles/year and it stings at times. A nice V6 would suffice for now....and sitting in traffic 2 hours a day with 400HP+ doesnt make much sense.

This.

They're getting rid of the 2014s to make more room for the 2015 Mustang.

I seen a 2015 driving in person and I'm really impressed.

I don't think people are waiting for a newer Camaro since no pics came out with it yet.

Couple of points......
Mustangs are everywhere around here in my neck of the woods, (NY, NJ, PA), I'd say about 8 -10 Stangs (yawn), for every Camaro (wow), I see.
I must say I like the new Mustang. My cousin just bought a loaded '15 GT. It's fast, well made and didnt break the bank. The fit and finish of the interior puts the Camaros interior to shame and the trunk is spacious. (Fords leather has always been nicer than GMs and I think they really could have made our trunk opening much bigger and utilized the wide hips our cars have better).
Two differant approaches, two great cars but I'll take my Camaro over the Mustang everytime. That being said, I wouldn't mind having a Mustang in my garage also.

It better be if it's supposed to be next gen and will probably not see another huge upgrade for 5-7 years. I just think comparing it to the current Camaro that is about to be retired soon doesn't mean much.

That's a good point however I've also been in a 2012 GT and found it to have a much nicer interior.
