I used to say this on the old f-body forum, as much as we joke about it, these cars are NOT toys, they are high performance vehicles that need to be respected and driven responsibly. Finding the car and drivers limits the hard way is not smart. In the hands of the wrong driver they are a tragic event waiting to happen. Please drive responsibly.

It says it collided with a van when it was going 85. Honestly though it's not a safe speed 85 doesn't seem that fast, but the car lost control in traffic and hit a pillar from an overpass which is lethal even at the speed limit. The van driver left before police got there.

That's terrible, I feel bad for the passengers who had no control over the situation. Scares me alot since my daughter's almost 15. I don't like the idea of her riding with other kids. Especially knowing the stupid things I did when i was young.

Harris County deputies are still on the scene investigating the triple fatal crash from late Wednesday afternoon on Interstate 45 northbound between Cypresswood and FM 1960. The vehicle left the freeway at a high rate of speed, crossed the feeder and struck a guardrail sending it air borne. The vehicle then impacted the bridge pillar roof first killing all three instantly. I 45 feeder northbound remains closed, The freeway with one lane closed remains in heavy backup.

Side streets are also backed up. Part of the problem is motorists attempting to get into the intersection before the light changes. Then with cross traffic not moving it blocks the remaining cross traffic. Deputies were at FM 1960 earlier issuing citations as many were going into the intersection under amber or red lights and blocking it.

It will possibly be several hours before the scene is cleared

This is in my neck of the woods.

They were 3 very young men driving 70 - 80 on the feeder road when a white van exited the freeway and tried to get all the way over to the right lane and clipped the Camaro.

The van stopped and a Hispanic lady got out and then she got back in and drove off. They are looking for her now and she could be charged with leaving the scene.

Never the less if you are going to speed in a dangerous spot make sure you are the only one in your car and you are not near anyone on the road. Slow down on exit ramps when your approaching traffic. Don't try and beat red lights, 2 min of your time is less important than the next 30 or so years of your life. Use your running lights at all times. And if you must not control the urge to drive like a race car driver make sure if anything happens you are the only one involved. No innocent people.

UPDATE:

Three people have been killed in a car crash in north Harris County and now investigators are looking for a van that may have been involved.

The accident happened at I-45 and Parramatta Lane, underneath the Paramatta overpass. According to the Harris County Sheriff's Office, witnesses spotted the white Camaro speeding on the northbound feeder road north of FM 1960. A van exiting Parramatta collided with the Camaro, forcing it to lose control. The Camaro hit a curb, went airborne and then crashed into a concrete pillar. All three occupants died at the scene.

The woman behind the wheel of the van stopped for a moment and then left. Investigators want to talk to her but have no leads on her whereabouts.

"We just need to interview her and see what her side of the story is," explained Deputy Derek Wilkie, an accident investigator.

Wilkie says they'll check nearby businesses to see of surveillance video provides any clues.
