Yeah, wheels and tires can make a huge difference. And sometimes guys like to exclude those mods from their mod list. Also any weight that been removed from the car (including the weight of the wheels and tires).

I watched a guy run mid 12s with just drag wheels and drag radials on his
LS1 z28 (no power mods, that's it). Wheels and tires can make a huge difference in track times.

That is very impressive. CAI, headers, tune, cat delete and exhaust and your putting that hp down and running those times. Flat out awesome!!!

The CAI is a prototype, My tuner buit it. Its called a 100mm cause the 4 inch tube. Its just the way its described as a 100 mm maf cause the sensor element is in a 4" tube.
The brakes are off a 02 Fbody. Front only
Even with the stock 20' tires its been a 1.80 60ft
The brakes and smaller wheels are the only weight modifications, all stock after that. The car weighed in at 3760 pounds on the scales last night.

I started this thread awhile back.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The car stock weighed 3960
The car with Fbody brakes on stock wheels 3850
The car on 16" CCW's and C5 Zo6 wheels and radials 3835
The car with 16" CCW's and C5 Zo6 wheels and headers with 3" custom exhaust..................3760

All weigh in's are with a 200# driver in car. Hope this helps!

Guys I dont know what els to tell you......it still has the stock crank pulley. Nothing els has been done to the car. All the traction devices were off. When the traction control was on it still went a 1.77 60ft.

Thank you for all the compliments.

Why would you say that? Oh wait, it must be because I currently drive a GT500.

I've been drag racing for a long time and I have a pretty good idea of what it takes to get a 3800lb car into the low-12's. Unlike people, physics does not play the brand-loyalty game.

Back on topic, that's a great time and certainly helps illustrate how much potential there is in the Gen5 SS. Congrats and good luck in dipping into the 11's.

I think they are 26 X 10R X18 M/T drag radials... I spent an hour searching what was available.

I was able to pull up the different sizes at Jeg's - that was the only 26" that mounts on an 18" rim.
