Okay, so the guy from the dealership emailed me back finally and still insisted that the manual transmissions were on a delay. He said that they had gotten some in this week though to maybe that meant "GM was getting back into the swing of things". So hopefully he's right this time.

When I placed my order on 7/31, I hung up from the dealer while the salesperson charged my deposit and then placed the order. Got a call back less than an hour later with my order number. The order went to status 2000 the very next day and had a TPW of 9/7 before a week had passed.

If you do not have an order number yet please let me know - we will find you another MSRP dealer that has open allocations ready to use now - not 1-6 months from now. There is no reason to wait for ordering now.

this happend to me also. the dealer took about 3 weeks to get back to me and asoon as he did, my order was already in the works, got it msrp, by the way ask all the questions you want, go to more than one dealer if your not comfortable, dont feel pressured, dont fall for any supply and demand bs.. ask questions here, ask questions at dealer.. and then place order.. i went to about 7 dealers here in illinois, walked out (without saying a word) on salesmen that wanted from 3thousand -10thousand over msrp!!! jajajajaj the balls on them... i found a dealer.. bill kay chevy, in lisle illinois... answered all my questions.. he said he didnt have an allocation until about 2-3weeks away, but would take my deposit only after he had a workbench number, and when he did, he called me , i took deposit... and checked my workbench number here and it was already acepted for production!!

ask ask ask question,, dont feel presured!

Tevis...6-speed manuals WERE on constraint. They are not now. Do you have an order # yet? If so, post it here, I wanna take a look at it.

Yes, they DiD give me an order number. Which is NMDZBK. I was glad that they were able to at least give me that because I was starting to think they were pulling my leg.

I see that some of you were talking about dealers trying to sale Camaro's at ridiculous prices above MSRP. My dealer told me that my car would be $30,395 and that it may even be cheaper when it gets here depending on if it had incentives or not. So if they want my 20K down, they better not try and raise the price on me once it's here! lol.

I did want to mention as well, there is a local Chevrolet dealer here and I was going to buy a Camaro from them but they want $38,888 for a 1LT. I thought that was VERY ridiculous. But who knows, someone would probably pay that for it. NOT me, I can wait! Though I am getting pretty anxious! (:

When I ordered 6/13. I was told 8 weeks until I would have a car. But now its been 8 weeks and I still don't have an allocation. I finally got an order number last week. They told me it was entered on 7/31. They say I'm #2 on the list as of last week.

I'm still not sure what to believe. I don't mind waiting but wish I knew the real status.

I was told 8 weeks as well. But it seems that I have figured out my problem with mine. And that is the delay on the manual transmission.

I ordered the car the salesman put it in the computer and he printed out the Order Workbench with the order number and vehicle information and gave it to me. For me it was immediate. Good luck!!
