ive been tinkering with mine. removed all speakers and some wiring. put back in the ground wire for the pass side tail lights. lol. finally got my power steering system working right after i pulled the air conditioner off and half ass rigged it to finish out the year last year. re-installed my JRod shock tower brace. installed a JRod aluminum wicker bill spoiler on the rear. ive got to do the diff and trans fluid and im stocking my shelves with a years worth of consumables so i can get tons of seat time.
ive got that spare LS3 if anyone wants to rebuild it. cheap. i know you have an event at sebring or miami planned for this beast in a few weeks. holla!!
Hey Danny. Thanks for the complements. It's fun to see it all come together, huh?

Sounds like some good mods coming together there for your car too, and from your other posts it sounds like your new engine is everything you hoped it would be. Good stuff!

We're going to test the car out in Jan or Feb at VIR if we can get some nice weather - not going down to Florida (though I would love to).

It's a Daley Stage 3 system, and a Peterson 3 gallon tank in the trunk wheel well (found another recent trunk pic below).

Thanks! Me too!

A few more engine pics from different angles, plus shots of the valve spring retainers we used. The engine builder decided to use a thicker titanium valve spring retainer than the ones supplied with the MAST heads, because of sustained high RPM and load from the cam and valve springs.

I know it would be useless for the build, but I'm assuming a/c is out? I always look for a/c in things, because Texas runs near triple digits 75% of the year haha...On another note, this has got to be in the top 3 best threads on C5. This is a thread I check for daily in my subs.

Thanks for the compliments, Pluto. All the real important decisions/recommendations were made by JusticePete, so kudos to him on speccing out a great build. I just get to drive it

For street driving, in Virginia, no AC means 3-4 months a year where driving around in the middle of the day is ugly. Still fine driving evenings, but will drive my truck in stinking hot weather.

For track driving, I have a cool shirt & ice box, and am getting my helmet modified for a chin blower. Won't be perfect, but will help.

Thanks man. Hope all the folks reading this have had a good Christmas break.

Looks like engine work will wrap up soon (hopefully within a week) at Arrington, and then the car is off to Justice Pete at JPSS for final suspension setup.

Meanwhile, pix some other stuff on the go: Titanium header wrap to keep the engine bay cooler, silicone shielding for plumbing for oil system going in, air oil separator to prevent fumes from building up in trunk.

More progress! Lots of stuff going on:
- Driver's seat in place
- Close up of aluminum panels to separate cabin from trunk. Speaker holes covered, and a few last bits still needed around roll bars.
- Peterson in-line oil filter going in soon (for lines leading to dry sump)
- Hood latch pins in place (final adjustment after front fascia is on)
- Interior looking good - Momo cool shirt box in place where rear seat used to be
- Valve covers
- Last two pics are for F1 high mounted brake light. Wanted something very bright and visible for track use. This one also has a "rain" mode where it flashes when braking.

It's coming together, boys!

Pete

I was seriously going to ask if there were any updates around 2 hours ago. Question was answered needless to say.
