Car died

So about a month and a half ago, I went in and started my car and it went dead. D. E. A. D.

I called roadside assistance and they came and jumped it and it has been fine. Brought it to the dealer (it's 6 months old) and they said they cannot find the cause or any issues related to the battery or electrical system. Fine. Brought it home.

Fast forward to today. I haven't driven it in about 5 days. Went in today to turn it on and bzzzzt. Nothing. Windows went up and down, doors opened and locked, windshield wipers flicked and I heard clicking.

The thing the dealer told me last time was if it happens again, tow it in and do not jump it. So I did. Figure they will get to it Monday morning. Before I handed it off to the driver, and it didn't do this last time -- on this DIC it said "battery saver active".

Personally, I think it is the battery......

Nope. It was last started about 4 days prior. Then Friday I got in, tried to start it and you could hear something make a power down sound (like it were a droid...) then clicking all over the place.

And, I just called the dealer and told them that like last time, a few days prior to each event, I had a info on my display telling me to reset my windows by rolling them down then up.

Figured that may point them in the right direction.

And, since they said last time it wasn't the battery and they couldn't detect a short, it was something they couldn't find (hence "don't jump it next time, bring it in dead").

So now I'm thinking (and hopefully they are also) computer???

On another note, is there a battery disconnect so if you're not in it for a week you just flip the switch and the battery is saved from something like this??

How do I check if this little module draws any current? Can I hook it up to a voltmeter and check?

This is the item. http://www.rangetechnology.com/pages/v8

The original version technostalgia lights sold up until mid '14 pulled a constant 90ma so depending on the state of your battery and other acc amps draws after 5 days of not driving the battery could die ( the lights will starts flashing first to let you know the battery is low. This battery draw and flashing lights happens even if you do NOT have Showmode wired. If you're not going to drive it for 5 days or more then hook up your battery to a battery tender. Search the forum and you'll find plenty of posts about this .
