I Love my Camaro... except

Now that I have had my car for 2 weeks and have tinkered with just about everything on it... there are a few things that I wish were different.

First - I have power seats, but the passenger side does not have an up/down adjustment. My 8 year old daughter is my driving buddy and in my silverado LS, I can raise the seat all the way up so she can see over the dash and she is king of the road. I have to put 3 pillows under her in my Camaro. I assumed with power seats, both sides would adjust up/down. Adding a power up/down might be a future mod for me.

Second - No light in the glove box or under the hood. For a $39k car that has options like auto dimming, heated mirrors and indexing windows; not sure why GM left out $10 worth of lights.

Third - No locking gas cap door. Premium gas is expensive!

Fourth - My head hits the ceiling on my sunroof optioned Camaro. I am 6' and with the seat all the way down and reclined way back my head stll rubs the ceiling. If the sunroof extended 6" farther to the side I would have plenty of head room

All things considered, having only a four item wish list on a new model vehicle is pretty impressive. I love my Camaro!

I know I've heard that complaint before, but, wow, really? I'm 6' and with my seat all the way up and not reclined at all, my head still doesn't touch the ceiling of my (non-sunroof) SS. Maybe I've just got longer legs than others.

There is a HUGE lack of headroom in the sunroof cars. I have a non-sunroof car b/c I sat in the sunroof car and my head rubbed. I am 6' as well. The sunroof is a poor design anyhow. Skip it, save a grand.

First i don't have mine yet it is in route to me but I can agree with most points.

1. I agree full power passenger seat would be nice. Even manual up and down would be nice I'm sure.
2. Definitely agree two cheap lights would be nice, although rarely do i look in my glovebox at night, actually rarely do i look in it. But bothlights I'm sure would be a minimal addition.
3. Locking Gas Cap, this is not a big deal for me. Has somoeone ever tried to actually steal your gas? I would be more concerned about jealous person pouring sugar in the tank or soemthing but not stealing my gas. I guess anything is possible and depending where you live, just not a problem around me.
4. Well I'm 5'11 and had plenty of room, only heard about sunroofs giving taller people problems but not 6ft tall people. I test drove one and adjusted it not sure if it was all way down or not but I do sit upright and I had plenty of room. Do you have tall hair?

I'm 6'2 and have a sunroof and my head doesn't touch the roof at all. I don't have my seat reclined all the way either but I do have it sitting low.

the sunroof has significantly less headroom than non sun roof camaro. Whether your head hits mainly depends on your torso height. I am 5'11 and have to put the seat all the way down and recline to clear my head as well, I have a long torso.

People stealing gas shouldn't be a problem. Most car companies put screens in the filler neck now. Has anyone checked that yet. I know my s10 has it but it also has an underhood light so maybe GM cut cost there as well.

Hi Chapinville

In NY, where I live, children under the age of 14 are NOT allowed in the front seat...also, what about the front passenger air bag...children sitting in the front seat in a crash where the passenger airbag has deployed have been killed...:(

Not trying to tell you what to do, but I just fear for your very young daughter's safety riding in the front with you...I care...

I bet the owner's manual has something to say about the proper weight for front seat passengers...please check it out...

Just trying to look out for all Camaro fans and their passengers..........

Sun visor light? I'd settle for a sun visor that was large enough to block the sun.

1. You knew the Camaro DID NOT HAVE a up/down adjustable passenger seat when you bought and or ordered.

2. It is a muscle car, not a Mercedes.

3. I can't remember the last time I read or heard of anyone stealing gas from a newer car with these fuel systems. It is real hard to siphon gas from these cars. And if you live or drive in areas where you NEED a locking gas cap, maybe buy your own aftermarket locking gas cap. Premium is only 12 cents more expensive than regular, on average here. If I steal 15 gallons of premium or regular, that is only $1.60 more than regular. Theft is theft, no matter what grade of fuel.

4. I am 6'1. Unless he has a rare one off car, I haven't an issue with the sunroof in my friends car.

Sorry you have so many problems with your Camaro
